I have wanted a NASCAR themed mug for a while, but I have been having a very hard time finding one I liked for a driver that I liked. Either they were just ugly or didn't really match the car at all, and one good thing about Larson is his tendency to always have a lovely shade of blue in his color schemes. Even the Valvoline car has blue in it, so this mug captured the vibes of the 5 perfectly. (the yellow mugs looked great too, but I worried the engraved white would just disappear, sorry Team Penske, you might be my actual favorites, but my favorite color is blue)This mug is excellent, it is heavy but manageable, the handle is nice and wide so my husband can use it without feeling like his beefy hand will be squished and it gives my tiny hands plenty to hold onto. It has good grip on the curves! It is well tuned! I really like that the design is etched, and pretty deeply, so no worry about it rubbing off with use, I do worry that the stoneware is going to stain over time since I am not sure if there is any kind of glazing on it. My mug arrived the day after the Darlington race and as a Larson fan, it couldn't come at a better time! This mug is perfect, just like an HMS machine, and not like Larson's at the time very eccentric driving choices.

This is a beautiful, well-made mug, with an absolutely gorgeous glaze finish and large, comfortable handle - and I have largish hands. The lettering and number are etched in, so absolutely no chance they will ever fade or wear off, but because they are etched into the white ceramic, they don't show as well on this yellow mug as they will on a darker color - still, I was going for the Ford and driver, and the mug was yellow.The yellow speckled glaze really is impressive, as I'm sure the other colors likely are as well - great product. If there is a drawback, I wasn't thinking about how large a 16 oz. mug would be - and it's big! If you like a large mug, you'll love this. As for me, I think I usually use a mug around 12 ozs because I can't drink this much coffee before it gets cold. I know I can just fill it partway, but the big surface area will still cause it to chill more quickly. As a result, I may not use this as much as I'd intended to, but I'm sure I'll find plenty of occasion to break out this beauty.

If you or someone you know is a racing fan, then there’s no question this mug should be on your list. For $20, I thought it seemed a bit on the expensive side, considering it’s a simple ceramic mug. Upon arrival, however, my skepticism was quickly thrown aside by its size, quality, and design.This mug is twice as large as your standard coffee mug, which makes it not only great for your morning caffeine fix, but also a perfect size for other purposes such as hot cocoa, soup, or even ice cream — as it’s almost the size of a bowl.The quality of the mug is very good — not earth-shattering by any means, but it has a nice finish, none of those tiny hairline cracks you sometimes see in these, and it’s even dishwasher-safe, which is always a bonus. The etching is also cleanly and nicely done.I would describe the overall design as classy (for a NASCAR product, anyway) and understated, which makes it a good choice for diehards or casual fans like myself. The splattering appears random, making each mug unique, and it even has a bit of a texture to it — though it’s subtle and in no way makes it feel uncomfortable or strange to use.Overall, while I do feel it’s a bit pricey for a coffee mug, it really doesn’t disappoint. This will no doubt make someone happy, whether it’s for a gift or personal use. I certainly have no problem recommending it. Buy with confidence.

I'm really impressed with the quality of this mug. The first thing that caught my attention was the size and weight. It was bigger than I expected. This is a nice big mug with just the right amount of weight to it. The 16 ounce capacity is a little larger than your typical 8 to 12 ounce coffee mug which is perfect for me. I don't have to worry about filling a dainty cup to the brim when I want a "normal" size cup of coffee. I really like the large C shaped handle. It works well even with my big hands.This ceramic mug is dishwasher and microwave safe so no worries about using it like your other coffee mugs.I really love the simple and sophisticated styling. A lot Nascar items can be a bit over the top and colorful. . . so this is a refreshing change. The beautiful black speckled glaze contrasts perfectly with the white laser engraving. The engraving is nice and deep without looking fuzzy or losing any fine details. This definitely brings back fond memories of attending races at MIS. If you've got a Michigan International Speedway Nascar fan on your shopping list, this is an awesome gift idea. Highly recommended!
