I bought this product by looking at picture. First of all they should use picture of product only which they sell, not showing three reamers in picture and send only one. Quality wise it's not best. Whoever the seller is just misguided the customers

I am a (semi) retired General Contractor also having held a Commercial Plumbing license at on time. Now building my own home with an extensive plumbing system so decided to purchase this item (knowing that was only one item, not three) hoping to speed up the deburing process. While made of quality materials the engineering is pure junk. Firstly you MUST cut the pipe perfectly square and flat which is only possible with chop saw and cannot be cut in the feild with a sawsall as the reamer will not cut the dips, only the high spots, and even then only on the outside. With a perfectly sq cut end you will see in the photos that it barely BARELY camfers the outside and then only if you "wobble" the unit back and forth while twisting and even then takes dozens of twists to ream as shown in photo. As for INTERNAL? From photos you can see that the body of the unit makes contact with the pipe while the teeth do not even come close to engaging and no amount of wobble will begin to cut on the enterior. Note that the "teeth" are just the burr of a stamp cut - total of 6 stamps with "teeth" (more of a very small burr) on each side of stamp out - three to the inside and three to the outside. Note the 'shadow' where the "teeth" should be engaging the pipe but are not as the body is in contact and holding teeth out. I used 3" pipe for better view but it is the same for 1.5 & 2" pipe. I have a lot of Ridged tools, pipe cutters, power threaders, pipe wrenches and power tools and have always found Ridged to be the best of the best for durability and ease of use but this item slipped through the cracks and does not even meet "Consumer Grade" standards- Have already purchased a more expensive and much better quaility reamer for use in a power drill and it works as advertised. Had hoped to not have to lug the power drill around on the job site but ?

All they did was punch some slots in a cone and sold it as a deburring tool. There are no blades to debur. Should have listened to the bad reviews. Live and learn.

Exactly like the one I had before it eloped with a nefarious pilfering plumber that fell in madly in love with it and had to have it.

Works just as expected, helps speed up the job and helps keep debris out of equipment.

I'm pretty disappointed with this product. I've been using the edge of my razor knife to cleanup the end of PVC pipe before gluing it, and was really excited to get the actual tool for the job. Unfortunately this tool does not work well. It seems poorly made and leaves such a mess at the end of the pipe, most of the time, that I end up using my knife anyway. I would send it back, but after spending $7 for shipping, I'm sure it wouldn't be worth it.Another thing is that the picture showed 3 pieces. I received 1 piece and felt like the product was misrepresented.

I was expecting 3 units as advertised, its only one that fits all. Outside chamfering very rough, chews more than cuts, need to sand after or little nubs will wipe down your glue, still works better than sanding alone. Still using a deburring tool on inside (does same chewy crap).

Used it for PVC. Works well but not as good as expected. The edges of the pipe where not as smooth as one would expect.

So totally useless. The photos are deceiving, as only 1 piece is included in the shipment. That is $46 for that piece of crap that didn't do any kind of job for me. Basically you are trying to shave off the pipes by rubbing this metal contraption on the inside and the outside. It is very hard work, and the inner and outside side will be curved once finished, instead of a straight 90, leaving the end of pipe to be very brittle. Also, it will not be clean shave at all, as you will end up with all kind of ridges inside and outside. A metal file would do much better job than this. This thing is a disgrace to Ridgid brand.

Easy to use. Strong, but I'd still be careful they don't get smashed if you put them in a box of other tools. Makes for nice, quick, clean work.

You have to "wrench" down on it for a bit so don't expect it to work in just a few turns or so. It will wear your wrist out doing it but it is the proper way to bevel pvc before putting glue on it. The other alternative would be to use a file of sorts. Six of one 1/2 of the other. Your choice.

These are a bit pricy for what they are but useful. Quality PVC joint craftsmanship is critical and results in reliable decades-long leak-free connections. These tools quickly take the sharp edge off PVC pipe cuts that result in better glue dispersion in the joint.Remember to always:1) cut your pipes square to the joint/fitting,2) abrade the joint surfaces with fine sandpaper/Emery cloth,3) use these tools to soften the edge4) use PVC primer,5) fully seat your PVC pipe in the joints,6) use a thick, slow setting glue (generally gray in color) vice the more common lighter duty blue or clear PVC glue,7) let the glue joint dry sufficiently before applying water pressure
