This call is reminiscent of the Cut Down Key Hole calls made famous by guides hunting high pressured, public ground ducks in the hardwood bottoms of Arkansas and Louisiana. The Mondo has a very short insert that creates very little back pressure which allows the call to produce that hard, loud, raspy lick of a a mallard hen, as well as that trademark loud squeaky chatter desired by the guides on these public areas.

I bought this after doing some research and I'm glad I did. I had to really learn how to blow this call and did this by watching some videos (thank you surviving duck season) and kind of figuring it out. I have been pulling ducks our way since!!! I know people have the ability to get quiet, but I haven't figured it out yet so I use my trusted alpha 2 (double reed call) to finish ducks close. An unintended benifit is I have become a better caller on my double reed, which is awesome! I think it's because the cut down is less forgiving, which helped me clean up my calling. I highly recommend investing the money (and time!!!) in this call!

A crisp call that makes sharp quacks, screaming hails but still gets low and soft when needed. One of my all time favorites. I does take a lot of air, but if you can run it, it'll do everything.

Garbage. You spend $140 on a call and it should be durable and last more than two weeks. Call locks up and won't blow wet. Per instructions, send call back for a "tune up", along with $10.95 and we will promptly fix and send it back. I did this....certified mail and was received and check cashed. 4 weeks later still no call returned to me or any email reply. Save your money.....

This call is 100% the end all, be all call. The only problem is, if you're trying to blow this call like a "normal" duck call, you're doing it wrong. I guarantee the two 1 star reviews left on here are user errors due to incorrect calling techniques. It took me a bit of time to adjust, but this is by far wayyy better sounding than anything else out there. To blow this call, you cannot hum/grunt into the call. You must present clean air. Also, it takes little less air than a normal call, or it will stick on you every single time. This is a very loud call that can get pretty quiet, but it is unforgiving. This is not a beginner call. I just use my Echo Timber single reed if I need something quieter. But definitely worth the money by far. Ignore the 1 star reviews. Those guys are blowing incorrectly, I had the same issues they were dealing with and I kept made changes with my technique until I figured it out. Joel at Surviving Duck Season has a simple tutorial video, I wish I watched to save me a ton of time, to help anyone understand that this call is a different instrument! RNT hit a home run with this call!! Very ducky and super easy once the light bulb clicks on.

Great sound! Realistic sound and quality I would expect at this price point. One of the better sounding duck calls out there.
