I bought this one because the snapon pocket digital thermometer is too expensive. This one will do its job just fine which is just measuring temperature. However, this don't stay on as long as the Snapon one does. It turns off after a couple minutes. Say if you have an ac problem where to have to wait certain time for the car to act up, you would have to re-open the door and hit the ON button. The panel (where the buttons and display are) is too fat and clip on the back would not engage on the vent to hold it in place (at least for the toyota model I was working on). I test drove and the gauge just fell off onto the passenger floorboard.However, it is easier to use than the snapon version is.

Been doing tons of AC at work which involves performance testing the AC system which includes testing the temperature of the air in the cabin. I have a cheaper manual dial gauge but seems to give inaccurate test readings. I watched a co-worker pull this out and stick it in the air vent, 10 seconds later it has a digital reading of the air temperature. Is it just as accurate? I had to have one. Well comparing to my manual one i was about 10 degrees off. I like the ability to switch between Celsius or Fahrenheit. It has a wide range of temperature so it can be used in cold and hot temperatures. I also like the automatic off feature. The unit does come with a cover for the probe to prevent damage. I am not saying this makes it any easier to use but it is a nice gadget to have around. I would recommend it, i would say it's useful for more than automotive but a wide range of things.

Funciona muy bien y su función de apagado automático, evita que la batería se agote en un descuido, la sonda alargada permite colocarlo entre el forro de las tuberías o entre las rejillas del equipo que se esta evaluando.
