The table top has changed over the years, the router table opening is now larger so you need to order a new router plate. The new table top does seem to be better built.

I bought this to replace my older same model table top. This “new” version doesn’t fit my old rockler plate.I should have known it wouldn’t fit when the item description doesn’t list the opening size for plate.

I left this as a comment on another review at first, then I thought I should leave a review. I'm leaving one star because nothing else matters if you can't use the tool. I have to admit at first I thought the review about the wrong table was sour grapes... Thinking to myself how could you just order the wrong table?However, then I purchased the table and router lift. Neither includes an opening size in the description and they look like they go together. Rockler doesn't tell you there are two sizes of router lift and two sizes of openings in tables. They don't allow you to choose a size. You just order and you get a router lift that doesn't fit the table. The stuff is so heavy, it's hard to return. It's so expensive so it's hard not to return. Total fail on the part of whoever puts out the descriptions for Rockler. I've not decided how to resolve my problem yet.

The table itself is exactly what I expected. Heavy and stable . . . not necessarily the most durable material, but I knew that when I bought it. My complaint is the track bar is not flush with the table surface. It about 1/16" lower . . . which not only causes my free hand work to catch on the edge, but also renders my miter gauge useless because it will not fit over the 1/16th "lip." So, with both the table top AND the insert plate (another review) from Rockler I have to make my own adjustments. For all the hype about Rockler I have to say I am disappointed.

This top works great! Built my own cabinet to mount it on and couldn't be happier with rockler yet again.

It is heavier than it looks.And Router installation is tricky.Instead, it is installed correctly.I still regret buying it.
