I purchased this item via Amazon Warehouse listed Used - Acceptable. The item was missing the remote control but other than that I received a new speaker. So I cannot comment about the remote control.Item has bluetooth, so I can play any songs via my phone. No problems there. It also impressed me that it has an FM receiver, so if you are out of input sources, this speaker is also an FM radio. Kudos to rockville. The speaker also has two more inputs which all can be mixed, so you can connect a guitar, a microphone and play bluetooth karaoke laptop and all inputs will be combined in that single speaker. Speaker has great power, but signals need to come amplified from source. Even though it can play instruments with passive input or from passive microphones, the volume will not be so great. So this speaker does require an amplifier before bringing any inputs, but instruments or microphones with phantom power work great without one. I think this is a plus, because you do not expect a simple speaker to do this. The only problem I have with this speaker is the hole in the bottom used to attach to a speaker stand. The hole is so narrow that fits standard speaker stand poles very tightly. Which really makes it a little bit impractical to be mounting and dismounting in portable situations. (I am reviewing the 15" Model)

Bluetooth connects flawlessly, even to new 4k tv's. There is little to no latency issues. Could be louder without clipping issues though but hell it's only $250. Great sound and value for the money. Will purchase again when louder version comes available.

Sound quality is superb. Only 2 minor issues, the only button on the remote that works is volume and it's a very slow adjustment and when trying to switch on BT you have to get physical and walk to it and press mode to switch to BT. Neither is a big deal but BT is supposed to be convenient I believe. It's not as loud as other reviewers claim it is but this is a supplemental speaker and not a main output. This speaker as a stand alone wouldn't get you a DJ gig, but none of this should stop you from making a purchase. I would pay 2x for the speaker without a second thought due to the quality of sound this speaker produces. This is my first Rockville purchase and it sure won't be my last. Came back to add that on BT mode it displays some form of gibberish and doesn't reach very far so leave your phone near it if you want the tunes to keep going.

My wife says it's to big to be portable to move around the house or the deck ..Myself Im unhappy with the remote and dont understand why it has to be too much in line of sight. Also unhappy with FM tuning it will only scan so many channels in the direction all the way down or up ..Im also unhappy with the day I bought it - It said after there was NO WAY to return it -- because it says..For safety reasons, items containing flammable liquids or gases can’t be returned to Amazon. Also the sound quailty for a 15 inch made by this company you would expect to sound descent -- sounds more midrangeI also dont understand why such a short power cord .. your always adding a extension cord on to it ....I guess Im stuck with a sub par speaker that I cant return - or enjoy around the house because your limited to where you can plug it in and you cant tuck it under anything or behind anything because then the remote wont work and you cant control it ..... so It just sits in a corner in it's box for now .....

Bought the 15" for work to compete with the machine noise. For that the speaker does an excellent job as it gets plenty loud - way too loud to stand next to it without hearing protection (which is no issue for me as I am required to have earplugs at work anyway). Even with earplugs it is uncomfortably loud right next to it. When keeping the volume just below clipping the sound quality is outstanding without any noticeable distortion. That is with normal ears and considering that this is a PA speaker. Oh my, if there is some coloration to the music, then I am not worried about it. I rather have that then the telltale signs of over driven speakers. The highs are crisp and clear and everything else as well, even 50-60 feet away. Despite the price tag it does not sound like a cheap DJ turned up way up into distortion nightmare. Please note that the speaker does need to be broken in. Right out of the box it does not go very loud. Mine took about halfway through the first week to finally break loose. Afterwards it is noticeably louder and even better sounding, especially on the low end. I didn't do anything special, just used it as normal. Which in my case meant running it just below clipping for hours and hours. Even so, it never complains. Sure, the cooling grills get pretty hot, but that is all.Bluetooth distance too low? Works great on my S8+ even about 45 feet away without cutting out. That is well above advertised spec, and I suppose it depends more on the sending device than the speaker. Very happy with it.I am docking a star for the FM radio antenna. From other reviews I already knew that had to unscrew the back and reroute the antenna outside. What I didn't expect after opening the speaker was the cable for the radio to be plugged in in the wrong spot. No problem as the circuit board has clear writing on it. Instead of drilling a hole I simply put the antenna wire through a screw hole and left that screw out. Everything else is thought out well, it is strange that there is no outside accessible port to plug in an external antenna. While it was a simple and easy fix (for me), it should have needed fixing.

It's a nice loud speaker. It is quite light compared to other ones which scared me a bit so I've been gentle and it's been working great. There are 7 different ways to play music on it including Bluetooth. It can play good bass but it's still no subwoofer. It starts to heat up quite a bit when played loud with ally of bass and if your not careful you may burn out the speaker. Hope this helps. The cord is kinda short so putting it on a tripod is interesting.Update: I’ve had two of these for over a year now with daily use. These things work fantastic still. I’ve measured these speakers peaking at just over 130db before it handled it like a champ. I bet the RPG is a great speaker too but these are cheaper and definately loud enough. I’ve found that these speakers actually reach a sweet spot if tuned with the bass knob at 11.5 and the treble at 1
