The micro-dymamics are stunning. I did everything I could to help it and it paid off. I used the 3.5mm input. The input source is a Zorloo Ztella DAC at about 50% volume. The headphones are 45Ω Pioneer SE-MHR5 ported headphones. These headphones are quite sensitive headphones. The volume is plenty at ⅓ with the input level from the DAC. I used a 5800 mAh 12 volt lithium security camera battery with a compatible power connector for ultra stable power.I think Rockville got the tube transfer function and tube harmonics just right. The bass is tight and present. The headphone impedence is just to the voltage side (tube dominant).

I was skeptical at first , mainly because this is my first tube amp . I honestly didn’t know what to expect . But I was absolutely blown away by the sound quality of this thing . Powering the unit on/off , is as simple as it needs to be . Volume control is just the same , and well placed . The size has me fooled too . It has a slightly noticeable footprint , the picture that is shown on the sales page , does not do it justice . But it is not too big and not too small . The power output is definitely nothing to be underestimated , make sure you have a set of capable headphones . To get the full benefit of the power output , I would definitely suggest a set of cans with an ohm rating of 50+. My one and only complaint is the weight . I would like for it to have a more hefty build design .All in all , this is a great budget friendly amp to start with.

I have only had it for one day now so time will tell if its reliable. Was hesitant to buy due to some of the negative reviews. I pulled the trigger anyway since it's priced so affordably. I am using this on a PC output using a USB Sound Blaster sound device and I must say it sounds incredible! The soundstage is full and spatial. Bass is solid but not punchy. The mids and highs are clean and pure. While some have complained that the volume is not sufficient I had the opposite results in that the volume is considerably higher with this amp. Cranked it up to full volume and had no distortion or crackling. If you are looking for McIntosh level performance for $40 you might have a cognitive disorder. Absolutely worth the money spent for my application. I will revisit this review in the future should I have any issues.

After a month of use or so developed static on right side channel, checked the tubes and also the headphones, yes it souded cool while lasted. But alas after I bought some cool tubes for it and such and was planning on doing some rolling it now has a distinct distortion and noise on right side. Tested the tubes and put new ones in from GE and EF95 from some brands still the same.

Its a good little dac for the price definantly sounds better then the built in one on my windows motherboard and is slightly better then the MacBook M1 air one. However the tubes do sound a little harsh at first with some static interference but I think that’s to be expected, however I think it will get better over time.

small static noise on one side. Maybe its just the vacuum tube and not the unit? also you guys used very poor quality packaging when shipping to me.

There's an expression in my country when referring to products you buy: bueno, bonito, barato (good, nice, cheap). This amp is good: enough power for HD58X and HD6XX and good sound quality. It's nice: the tubes make it look like a nice piece to have in a desktop, shelf, etc. And it's cheap. What's not to like?

I'm using Sennheiser HD280 Pro headphones with my AudioTechnica turntable and the crackling and distortion is really bad. I'm going to try some different tubes and hope for the best as it didn't start crackling until after the return period ended. I don't have a ton of use into the tubes either. I travel a lot for work, so I don't get a ton of time to listen to records. Very disappointing.Edit: I've reached out to Rockville via their website and have got no response in 4 days. I've taken this down a star because of the lack of customer support. It's supposed to have a 1-yr warranty and I'm well within that period (about 75 days), but they're not responding.
