I have had this shovel for 2.5 years. It is as strong today, as it was when I got it. It has also maintained it's finish and has not rusted as I use it with wet material.I have used clumping litter since 1992 for my 5 cats and their 3 litter boxes. I use this shovel to separate the litter clumps as a whole clump from the bottom of the litter box. This, then enables me to then use a typical plastic (cheap) scoop to lift the clump out.The shovel is also great for adding new litter from my 35lb pale, until it becomes less heavy and I am able to easily lift it. In the past, using the plastic scoop alone would often result in the clump breaking up.Once clumping litter gets wet or mixes with wet litter, it will no longer clump, or at least has greatly reduced clumping ability. I would have to throw away twice as much litter. This shovel has paid for itself over and over and over by making my litter go further than it ever has. If you have even one cat, you NEED this shovel. Highly recommended.

I mean...its a shovel. It shovels. Wish the handle was a bit longer cause my stove is deep, but that's about it.

Thank you for such a great product! The shovel has a nice long handle so you don't have to stick your hand into the fireplace or woodstove. It is nice and wide so you can get big scoops of ash out at one time making cleanup a lot easier. Built very durable and solid. Great product that I recommend to anyone!

I bought this shovel to replace a two piece variety and I am very happy with the quality. It is well balanced, comfortable to use, fits into the space under the bars on my fireplace heater. I love that it is one piece so the handle doesn’t work loose and tip ashes out onto the hearth. Very satisfied now and I think it will be durable.

It's an inexpensive ash shovel. The metal gauge is heavy enough that there's no noticeable flex. It ought to last me years cleaning out the fireplace and wood stove.On an item like this, the main questions are, 1) does it do the job, and 2) was it reasonably priced.Yes on both counts.Note that I did not rate it on durability. I expect this to last years, but I've only had it a month or two, so its too soon to tell.

The shovel proved nifty for what we intended it for,We were so extremely excited when it arrived at our door,It was a gift for my husband whose intent was to use it in our yard,No, not for ashes from our fire pit which tend to become hard,But, for our sheltie, Bailey, who has made our yard his own,A gardening tool could not gather up the remnants of an eaten bone,So, this shovel we purchased has been the very best tool,To gather Bailey’s deposits with, we’ve found it to be quite cool,If you happen to have a puppy or two, I recommend this, by far,With its wide flat shovel and it’s long handle, you will be able to walk without worry when you’re observing the stars!
