I bought it to make buffers for my 10/22 rifles...works great for that, better and cheaper than using the nylon bolts that so many are using, it's a little oversized to the original steel buffer but can easily be put in a drill chuck and turned down to fit better or just bevel the end a little and tap it in the hole...either way will work !!

Perfect fit for my Ruger 10-22 buffer pin! No cutting off nylon bolts etc.

training your kittens to be in a circus... (cats loved this rod/wand)this rod is an excellent provider of a Ruger 10/22 bolt buffers when cut to 1.25" lengths... the diameter is slightly larger than the slip-fit steel used by factory receivers (0.26 vs 0.25), but if the rim edges are slightly chamfered, the new buffer is easily tapped in using a nylon hammer (to avoid marring the receiver) - you'll save money over commercial buffers!the rod *appears* to be a Delrin or generic 150 acetal, and as such should have the following mechanical properties:MechanicalTensile Strength (PSI) D638 11,000Tensile Modulus (PSI) D638 450,000Tensile Elongation at Break (%) D638 30Flexural Strength (PSI) D790 13,000Flexural Modulus (PSI) D790 450,000Compressive Strength (PSI) D695 16,000Compressive Modulus (PSI) D695 450,000Izod Impact (Notched), ft-lb/in D256 1Rockwell Hardness D785 M89, R122i'm taking off a star due to no link to a specific data sheet
