This bay window rod was very hard to install by myself. I am very proud of my accomplishment with this project. With that said, I highly recommend this one inch rod for your decorating needs. Preplan the install by laying out the pieces as they will look as a finished hung project. A level and a stud finder are helpful and important tools for the installation. All windows have solid wood (header) above them for a solid install without using the provided anchors. If you choose to extend beyond the header use your stud finder to locate wood framing for a solid installation. As you can see I have blackout mini blinds, but I am adding a grometted 18" valance to the rod for a stylish fabric topper. During the installation process you will need to install the side rods and the center rod and then remove those same parts to adjust the inside rotating brackets. A lot of back and forth to get the proper fit. It becomes frustrating, but accomplishment achieved.

I absolutely love the quality and the look but the instructions were a little hard to follow and it was a bit hard to install on my own it does have some weight to it.

EDIT: I originally reviewed this in Jan 2021 and a year later decided to purchase another rod for my downstairs baywindow (the first one has held up very well). Well, I thought it was pricey in Jan 2021 but 1 year later it is almost $100 MORE! Definitely not purchasing a second at that price point ($267.00 PLUS taxes at the time of writing this). Very disappointing!My husband hates putting up curtain rods, he's been known to break them, put too many holes in the wall and install them incorrectly (because he doesn't listen to his wife, who knows best, or read the darn instructions!). So this time, I bought a rod that was way more than I'd normally spend but the window is complicated (bay window). I do think it's way overpriced, if I'm honest, but on install day my husband read the directions (which were super easy to follow) and put this up once....no random holes in wall and nothing broke! he actually commented that this was the best quality rod I'd bought and said it was straightforward to install! that right there is a good review. He doesn't know how much I paid for it though.......

My only complaint on this rod is that it's hard to pull the curtains over where the smaller size rod goes into the larger one. I really like the look of the rod now that I got it installed. It was a little tricky for me to do on my own but I did manage after a few frustrating tries!

We hung ours from the ceiling and it is fantastic! Due to the angle of our bay window we had to forego one of the brackets but it is still very sturdy! Highly recommend.

Overall it's a solid product. I never even knew these bay window curtain rods existed. The installation was relatively easy for me, but I'm quite handy. It took me roughly and hour and a half. If you're not handy, expect to be frustrated. Just plan it all out before you go drilling holes - you'll be fine. You will need a second set of hands in the beginning to test the angle.It's a sturdy product after it's hung. It doesn't feel cheap. However, the finish will scratch easily. I mean really easily. Especially when sliding the supports on. Again, just take your time. You'll like the finished product.

The rod is great quality and well made with easy to understand directions. Definitely easier to install with two people though. I was very lucky that the middle rod just fit my window exact. My bay window is oversized and I’m so happy it worked out thanks to an extra extension piece that was included in the packaging.

As a self employed contractor, I am somewhat cautious on certain supplies and hardware that I purchase on line. You can never tell the quality and many times end up with junk that I either return or toss into the trash. Not so with this unit. This thing is very well made with metal wall mounts, not cheap plastic. This unit is actually installed in my personal home office and I am very pleased with it. Please note: you will need patience to install it. Take your time and lay out all of the parts on the floor just as it's going not the wall. Mark out the wall BEFORE you start drilling and putting anchors in your walls. I actually purchased a second unit for a single window in the same room. Great quality, would purchase again.

This is a beautiful sturdy set up, well worth the money. However, through no fault of the product getting the angles correct for bay windows is a bit tricky.
