We searched a good long while for an adjustable piano bench to replace the cheap, uncomfortable one we had before. There just aren't a whole lot of great options out there if you want something quality. Not even the high-end piano and/or music gear shops around here had anything worth buying at any price. We finally opted for this bench and are happy with our choice. I've owned Roland gear in the past and have always known them make quality stuff. This bench is made in China like most of them available on the market today, but at least the hardware and materials are solid and it is very sturdy. The padding is nice and thick enough for our tastes. The simulated leather material looks very nice and seems durable. It was packed well for shipping. Some extra lubrication couldn't hurt, but it worked just fine without it. It's not like it's going to fall apart if you don't. We expect to have this in our home for a long time.

This was as good as I expected it to be for the price. It's a nice piece of furniture. Sturdy and comfortable also. Do lubricate the moving parts on the hinge because it needs that. Also, I had to trim some threads that were dangling from inside the compartment, but it looked great otherwise.

This bench is absolutely worth the money. The legs are totally solid after several months of heavy use, including two people sitting on the bench at the same time. The hinges are built solidly, and the knob mechanism is built like a truck axle.I will say, however, that the very first thing you should do is to apply clear silicone grease to all the moving metal parts: the hinges, latch mechanism, and knob screw. Move them back and forth a bunch of times to work the grease in (yes, raising and lowering the bench several times takes some time). After this, you'll have smooth operation forever. If you skip this, you might be a little disappointed with things sticking, or being hard to move.
