Overall it is a decent push aerator. The spikes are roughly 3" long and the unit is easy to push. It does the job for the most part but I deducted 1 star because one of the spikes bent after use.

Holy moly this thing is beefy. If Thor had a lawn aerator this would be it. I would conservatively say this is about 35-40 pounds of spiky goodness. With all the handle inserts installed this thing is about 7 feet long. I used it to loosen up my lawn for early spring seeding and it worked great. I previously had the spikes for my shoes to aerate with, which was not as easy as you'd think. This worked much better. Good tool to get the yard looking good again.

Easy enough to install- the pole is extra long to allow for easier pushing at a better angle and not so much straining. It actually rolls pretty well in and out. It does seem to grab leaves pretty easily and needs to be rinsed off well to remove- storing it can be a challenge as this thing is heavy and look like a medieval weapon. but the box it came in could be used to store it. Looking forward to a better yard after getting spring planting done.

Our dogs have been destroying New tract of grass that we have in our backyard so we decided to get this aerator and plant some grass seed. This helped wonders as we've used other aerator tools before such as the spikes or the hand roller and this one saves your back. I am so happy that we were able to find this!

This was easy to install and assemble with very little instructions. Some of the pins came in bent but they were easy to get straightened again. It had a heavy weight which made it easy to move around.

Luckily, Amazon shipped the aerator in a second box - other than the one from the supplier. The spikes on the aerator penetrated the original box and were sticking up dangerously. I guess that's an indication of how sharp the spikes are although not the ideal way to receive the product. It worked well on my lawn but this is after several month of rainy weather so the soil is fairly soft. I won't know how well it does in firmer soil until my summer/spring aeration. The spikes penetrated the ground easily and left holes on the smaller side than my step aerator. It rolled nicely and the handle was very sturdy. It was more efficient than my usual aeration. My issue is with the storage. I'm at a loss as to how to store this item. The spikes are very sharp and I'm reluctant to leave them exposed. I may need to build some type of "shield" for it to safely store in my garage or shed. Overall, it does a good job but has the storage drawback of which users should be aware.

I have yet to give this rolling lawn aerator a full-yard trial, but I did give it a test drive on a small patch of ground during a brief thaw in the winter snow and ice. It rolls great, and the long handle makes it easy to push. I have about a half-acre of yard to aerate in the spring, since last summer's heat and drought killed off most of my existing grass. This is going to make the job that much easier at a reasonable price without the need to borrow or rent somebody else's tools. The roller and spikes come pre-assembled, so all you have to do is put the handle sections together and attach it to the roller. Takes 5 minutes, tops.

This aerator came in a simple box and illustrated one of the cautions that needs to be used. The box sides had been punctured by the spikes. In addition the instructions insides had been torn due to the spikes. It is pretty well preassembled. But the holes created by the spikes are fairly small diameter and can fill up afterwards. In addition, it's not quite heavy enough to penetrate firm soil on its own without loading sandbags onto the handle. It's also hard to store with the spikes. A you have lift it up over your walkways to ensure that the spikes don't leave small marks on the concrete. All in all, I'd spend a few more bucks and look at some of the electric powered scarifiers which can also serve as a dethatcher. It would likely be easier and more effective in the long run.
