The level and pan knobs on each phantom powered XLR input allows for sufficient control over volume and placement of audio as it's heard through a connected pair of speakers. Also, separate headphone circuitry makes monitoring the mix easy without ever affecting the overall main output.

They work very well, and it's hard to find anything that matches it in capability. I use one to take an XLR feed from a venue mixing board into a camcorder, and a second for a pair of shotgun mics into a second camcorder. I have one set with the Phantom power enable, the other disabled. It is a little tricky to flip the switches, but that is a good thing, as feeding phantom power back into the venue's mixing board can damage it.They are rugged little devices with a metal case. The most important feature is the microphone level output which also has circuitry to block the phantom power some camera microphone input ports produce. One important thing to note is that the power supply is 5 volts DC with a barrel style connector, but unlike virtually every other one the negative is on the CENTER PIN.There have been a few reviewers complaining about noise. The MX32c has a very wide range of level, and you have to set the level from the inputs and the level of the microphone on the camcorder both correctly. If you have them wrong, you are going to have a lot more noise generated by the camera input having to boost a very low level coming from the mixer. This is a pro piece of gear, and you have to learn how to set the gain stages correctly in any pro gear.

Unacceptable hum on both incoming audio channels. Channel 2 was picking up a broadcast audio signal even with no mike connected. Returned the product to Amazon for a refund.

works well, using to interface high end microphones to PC for video projects. With a good microphone there appears to be no noise, and the features are handy. Well made, sturdy enclosure, controls, and connectors. Will also be using for high end mic connection to video camera rather than noisy built in mics (built-ins pick up noise from lenses also) on our DSLR.

I actually bought this so our drummer could hear our click tracks and percussion loops on stage. I used to use a small mixer which required finding a power socket to plug into. NOT ANYMORE…THIS THING IS BATTERY POWERED!!!!! And it sounds GREAT!!!

Great little mixer. We use it in various locations and fixed with a Shure PZM mic that is used as input to a GoPro Hero2 camera. Provides phantom power and conversion to 1/8 stereo. It does come with an AC to DC power supply. We don't use it with batteries.

We were challenged with a unique monitor setup and this was the perfect fit. The quality is very good. I love it!

I purchased this unit used because I am beginning to do some small scale video production using a consumer grade Sony HD camcorder, and I needed better field sound capabilities. I also looked at the Sign Video ENG44 and the JuicedLink CX-231. They are both nice units, but even as affordable as they are, were too much for my current budget. The ROLLS works as advertised. It connects to my camera with a 1/8" mini jack to 1/8" mini jack cable. It provides vastly improved sound over the camcorder's built in mic, and is also significantly better than my cheap camera mounted shotgun mic. My particular camera has two settings for microphone sensitivity, Normal and Low. Usually, using a mic mixer will defeat the AGC (Automatic Gain Control)circuit of the camcorder. On my particular camera it does not have this effect, but I found I got better sound using the LOW setting with the mic mixer.PROS: Small form factor. (about the size of a paperback book) I put a strap on mine so I can carry it over my shoulder. I can also strap it to a leg of my tripod with small bungee cords. Works well. Runs off of 2 9V batteries. Very affordable.CONS: Not sure if it is my camera or the mixer, but audio is slightly noisy. (as in sound floor hiss) Not enough to ruin the sound, but not completely clean either. Mic gain knobs are very sensitive. A slight bump of the knob can change the levels significantly. It uses recessed pins with jumpers to select Phantom Power ON/OFF for each mic input. You need to use needle nose pliers to change the jumpers. Not very practical in the field. These should have been switches. If you loose one of the tiny jumpers, it would not be easy to find a replacement. I opted to leave mic 1 input with Phantom power OFF and mic 2 input with Phantom power ON.BOTTOM LINE: A great little mic mixer for the money with a few quirks you can learn to live with.
