This is not the same clip shown in the photo... the quality of the rope is thin and janky... and i ordered this two weeks ago thinking it would come in a PAIR but that’s probably my bad for not looking harder... but now i have this one single chincy tie that won’t clip to anything ... waste of $20

I recently had a situation where I needed to take a boot off a front hoof every night and put it back on every morning. The boot wasn't easy to put on so it took me a while each morning. Something spooked my horse while I was bent over struggling with the boot and he pulled back. The Velcro release worked perfectly and as soon as the pressure was off, he calmed right down. I had another cross tie that I was using that didn't have a Velcro release. After this incident, I am ordering another tie. Although both of my cross ties also have quick release snaps, I just learned of an incident where the pressure was so strong on the quick release that they would not release. The horse was horribly injured as a result.

This product has Velcro break away on it, which broke immediately when my quarter horse threw her head back spooking. She then walked around the property with them hanging from her halter tripping on them with front feet. Definitely not safe for my horse. I do usually love the quality and workmanship of Roma, but I don’t want my horse to learn that it’s that easy to breakaway from a cross tie.

Great crossties, well packaged. I didn't need the breakaway velcro option but this was the best priced crossties with snap ends (not bull snaps) so I went ahead and bought these. Breakaway straps should work nicely if ever needed for pulling back horses. Panic snaps at the other end are standard kind which I really couldn't tell from picture supplied. These are priced and sold individually.
