this thing is supposed to do one thing, measure a length and draw a circle at said length. The tape wont hold in place. Trying to keep the tape steady is impossible as i try to draw a circle. Whats more, it looks like someone stomped on this thing before it was hurled onto my front porch.

This is a very useful tool for a woodworking shop, I bought it as a gift for my father in law who makes furniture and the like and I think it is pretty decent. The tape measure is pretty clunky, it catches when pulling it out, I wish it was a little smoother like a standard tape measure. I like that it comes with extra graphite. It is a bit on the cheap side, I wish it was a little sturdier, but it is fine, nothing spectacular and nothing outright terrible.

The built-in tape measure is off by 2-5/16”. It does not measure between pencil and center.Without a working tape measure, this tool is just as useful for drawing circles as a piece of string.
