Installed on my wife's 2010 Jeep JK. We installed the rear Dana 44 skid plate first and it went awesome. Then we got to this front Dana 30 Rough Country skid plate. I had read reviews about having to grind to get socket to fit and I experienced the same issue. The problem is related to the U-bolt that goes around the snout of the differential housing. There is 1 design flaw and 1 manufacturing flaw that prevents even a thin walled socket from properly fitting through the issue. The design flaw is that the hole (actually a slot) where the socket is supposed to go through needs to be at least 1/8" "longer" (wider further away from the driveshaft on both sides). The problem is that when the plate is formed during manufacturing, the thickness of the metal on the "inside" of the skid plate interferes with socket clearance. The manufacturing flaw is that the welding around 2 sides of the socket access hole has to be perfect - any excessive weld metal intrudes on the hole. Basically need a die grinder to open up the hole and then have to repaint to avoid instant rust. Both very easy fixes for Rough Country to make but apparently I'm not the first that has run into this issue.

Great product only four stars for install because my differential cover is not stock I had to cut and modify the differential bolt mounting bracket.

True 1/4 inch plate. Well made and a great value for the money. As opposed to a lot of other covers protects the entire bottom of the housing even if you slide forward from the rock. Holes match the sizes of the bolts and my deep sockets are just right to go through the relevant holes.

I thought it was super easy to install and I'm not very mechanically talented. That skid plate is super thick, this will last for a very long time. I definitely recommend it.

Over welded and make it hard to install the "U" bracket. Check that you can get a socket in before starting install.

Great protection but a little difficult to install only because the outer holes are too small to insert any socket into (by design you can't use a standard wrench either). I had the same problem with the rear one I had bought as well. I had to use a Dremmel to grind out the outer holes a bit to insert the screws into the diff cover. Also, my "U" bolt that was included in the box had been damaged (threads smashed a little). I contacted the seller to see if it could be replaced but as of approximately a month later I still have not heard back. As it stands I still have not been able to install the U bolt at all. The skid is on, however, and still feels fairly solid and robust but I am going to be a little concerned as it is not mounted as intended. We'll see I guess.4 stars because of the required grinding and the, as of today, lack of response by the seller.I included photos of how it looks after. I did, however, paint mine red although they come black and have a great finish. If they work properly the color wont matter as it'll be scraped off anyway :)

I'm happy with my purchase. Plate is plenty beefy. Install is as simple as the instructions. No torque spec for the diff bolts, but a search online is just as simple. Based my purchase on not having to replace the fluids like you would with an aftermarket cover.

Very easy install if you have the right tools, but that goes for most things. It has taken some hits and has done its job on the trail.
