Installed on my 2000 Ford F350 and it snapped on first close. Called the manufacturer and they shipped out a new one immediately. New one worked perfect so I assume the first was just a defect. Great customer service.

One damper is overworked. The lower mount keeps working loose. Have ordered a second. Same part number, wrong parts. Had to rig my own mount. I like the results. Will see if two takes some strain off the mounts.

The kit is very similar to the one on my RAM. The shock is a little shorter. I have the rivnut tool and extra nuts. Use Vaseline on the bit to prevent the shavings from getting in your tailgate. On my RAM the cable gets stuck behind the shock.

Installed this on my 2015 F350 — Giving a poor review because I was supplied with a threaded ball insert that didn’t match up with the supplied 5/16 bolt to fasten the riv-nut, had to use my own nut to fit the 5/16 bolt, as the nut supplied was too large. Then, I had to use a tap and die set to get the supplied ball insert to fit. A lot of extra work for something that should be as simple as drilling a hole and putting in two bolts. Poor quality parts.I wish the assist kicked in sooner but overall does work and is better than nothing. I’d recommend trying another brand other than Rough Country for this product. I like their leveling kit, but this product just doesn’t do it for me.

Got my 2001 f-350 feeling new, the only thing is you have to remove the rubber buffer pictured or else the strut makes contact with it, works great now with it removed, did a strut on both sides of the tailgate and works great.
