It’s a 5/16 hole Does not fit 3/8 jack but I took a step bit and carved it a bit and it worked great

This was fine and I installed it, but this is a finish/trim component. It should be pristine. It had visible paint lines. Looked like it had existed in a box of many before separated and packed.
