I have always used the traditional two screw metal version on all my instruments (clarinet, sax, bass clarinet, etc.) and had always want to try one of these...not disappointed. Just what I needed...so I bought one for each instrument.

This is a great upgrade to the traditional metal ligatures. Improves tone and playability. My daughter has used one on her saxophone for a couple of years and is just as happy with this one now that she is learning clarinet.Seller should update the title to better reflect the actual item since this listing had the best price but I only found it by searching for the model number since it's not an "accordion accessory"

Rover has apparently changed the design of the MK III (C-1R) and didn't update their photo. I've been searching for the model with the 2 sewn lines that contact the reed (like I purchased many years ago for my Bb and Bass clarinets) - the current MK III does not have this feature. The older version ligature is pictured on the seller's listing. I'll be returning this ligature.

This is a very good company. We bought the 1R and it is fabulous. Holds its shape and improves sound. This one, the C1R, is more flexible and the sound is not as good, so we’re returning it. We got a prompt reply from the company. We have to pay the return postage, but that’s OK. It’s a small package. We are promised a full refund.

Sent the wrong item C1RL vs C1R. I was also ordering an Alto Sax ligature separately so I kept it, but it’s cheaper than what I actually ordered, so I’m out a couple bucks and still need the Clarinet ligature... quality wise it’s good and as expected.

It gives notes great clarity when you position it correctly. I've found that turning it around backwards gives the best tone and reed contact. Very rich sound. You need to already have good tone control, it can't work miracles people. I agree with another reviewer in that it is "fussy" but when you do eventually get it to position correctly, it sounds very nice and keeps the reed secure.

Great ligature. Easy on off, single knob, less likely to chip a reed if you're accidentally rough with it, and in my opinion, it improves intonation a bit. With metal ligs I'm prone to overtightening and therefore causing issues with the reed vibration. Absolutely not a problem with this, as it's simply impossible to overtighten that way and the material is a bit flexible. It's an idiot-proof ligature and I like it.

This ligature helps to achieve a nice dark, rounded sound. It does from time to time slip up a bit on the mouthpiece after playing for an hour or so.

This type of ligature was recommended by my son's music teacher to improve the sound quality of his rather old clarinet. It has done that. It has reduced the breathy sound and squeaky high notes that we used to hear. His playing now sounds much clearer and he says that the high notes are easier to play. The price was good and delivery was fast.

My daughter is an above-average intermediate student who has been playing for three years. She had been playing a Selmer student clarinet and has just moved up to a LeBlanc Noblet 45. We bought the ligature to accompany the new clarinet, but she has been playing the Selmer with it too. My daughter's high school band director actually made her stand up in class to show everybody her new ligature. He called it an "excellent Rovner ligature". My husband chose this particular ligature for our daughter after reading many positive reviews and recommendations on this and other sites. She is happy with the ligature, noting that her reeds are working better. Before, she would go through more reeds and be less satisfied with reed quality. The ligature improves the sound of the reeds and therefore the quality of her playing. We're very happy with this purchase!
