I installed mine on a Concept2 Model D because it was >5x cheaper than replacing the OEM computer. The unit comes with two hall effect sensors, one for distance, the other for stroke. These are triggered by magnets that you need to provide. The unit will not interface with the Concept2 original sensor. It does, however, mount on the original display arm if you use a slightly thinner and longer bolt.I mounted the distance sensor on the inside of the wheel housing using hot glue. While it does work using the original magnet ring on the wheel, the count is crazy high because the Concept2 magnet ring has 12 poles. Instead, I hot glued a tiny magnet further out on the circumference, also on the back side of the wheel. I also glued a washer opposite it in order to counter-balance it, just in case.I then installed the stroke sensor by gluing a magnet to the bungee pulley that retracts the pull chain. This pulley turns less than one revolution per stroke. That sensor doesn't work reliably (maybe 70% of the time), and it only registers activity while the distance sensor is reading enough speed from the wheel.The unit works fine for my purposes, which is to say that it turns on when I use the machine, counts the workout, and turns itself off. The backlight doesn't work, or I got the model without it by accident. The unit has interval mode that I can't figure out how (or why) to use, bluetooth support ("Zhitian Sports APP") that I haven't tried, and can connect to some heart rate monitor chest strap that I don't have (proprietary product of the same company).All in all, if all you want is an exercise counter and timer and you're willing to fiddle with placing sensors and magnets, this thing can save some money.
