When you need the ultimate in protection from a hard shell equipment case, you can’t go wrong with Pelican. But, if you’re not headed to a war zone and just need to survive airport baggage handlers and maybe a drop or two, this case is a good value for the money.Build quality seems solid, though the plastic used is more of the harder/more brittle variety (ABS?) than the softer Pelican material. Basically the same as what you would get with an Apache brand from Harbor Freight. I speculate that if the case was dropped from several feet high or sustained a sharp impact that it would crack more easily than a Pelican, but that extra durability is what you pay for in a Pelican.Comes with the usual egg crate + cubed pluck foam + solid base foam. Pluck foam is thick and easy to pull.Lid clasps have a tab that you have to manipulate to open them, which is fine, though may present extra points of failure depending on how rough you are on your gear.In short, if you just need something to carry equipment from A to B via car or plane, this is a good value and you can probably get two of these for the price of one Pelican.Rating this 5 stars because it is good and solid for what it is, and I’m not comparing it to a Pelican for purposes of a star rating. But if I was, I’d give it 4 stars vs 5 for Pelican based on the plastic.

I have two of these, one for each of my ARs and I'm considering a 3rd for my 30/30.I do not cut out the foam. I just lay the ARs right in it. I tried (with another case) to cut out the foam and boy, it was a disaster. I take that back, I did cut out a very small piece for my PEQ box (use a scapel thing... don't try ripping out the cubes).I love the durable handle, wheels, space... and you can put two relatively heavy padlocks on it.

Easily the best rifle case on the market, especially at this price point. I purchased two to replace cracking Planos, and I’m thoroughly impressed. My only complaint is the lack of a similar option for pistols. Highly recommend—buy with confidence.

the lid top should have been glued in but made a great custom fit for a long gun and everything you need to fit in it

I like the ruggedness of the case. You can tell its going to last a long time. Plus plenty of storage space whatever type of gun or rifle you choose.

I have it 4 due to wrong size. The description in the ad says it is 38" in length which is wrong. I order this thinking it would work for my shotgun which is 37 1/4" long. From buttstock to barrel tip. When I opened the case and laid the gun in it it would not fit. The gun was the entire size of the case. I thought I had measured wrong so I had my older son and a friend each measure it and they both got the same results. The case is not 38" in length at all. Definitely not the interior of it. They need to give exact internal measurements. Don't get me wrong it was a nice study case but just not the right size.
