As far as the value for the money, they're good but they don't have all the features the magpul does. If I were to buy again, I'd just spend the little extra money on the magpul, you'll like the magpul better.

Ive always used magpul mbus sights but i thought id try this ruger sight on the latest build since it costs a bit less.Overall its great. Totally on par with the mbus sights. The push button and spring operation work well. Mounts solid. Holding zero.It only has one aperture vs the two you get on mbus but I really like the size of it. Id guess its a little bigger than the small mbus aperture but much smaller than the large mbus aperture, if that makes sense. Perfect for me.If you like mbus but want a cheaper option, give this a try.

Excellent quality rear BUIS made from a trusted brand. No wobble, smooth operation and just feels good to operate. The peep is windage adjustable and has a small aperture for further/longer distances, not particularly good for close quarters — also, this is not a flip peep, it has the one size and that’s what you’ve got. This is fine for my application but something to consider for your situation if you’re using it for home defense. The installation is easy, while stiff, taking a fair bit of effort to slide onto the rail after removing the bolt and nut — I like that it is like this, feels much higher in quality and I have more confidence that it will remain permanently seated. There is a nice, audible ratcheting action as you close the sight and locks the sight flat against the rail. Push button release is immediate and not mushy. I also have the matching front site and would highly recommend both of these items.

Disclaimer: I would consider myself a bit of a Magpul junky, and would have never looked for these Ruger sights if Magpul was not sold out. I bought the front and rear sight for this product, so this review will shadow both the front and rear.The polymer construction is solid and hefty. They have a firm locking position while both up and down. The button to deploy the sight is crisp and clean. It is not too firm, nor too soft. They will not accidentally deploy when shooting or when bumped, and they will not hesitate to open when commanded.I have no question if these will fail me. They won’t!The front sight came with an adjustment tool, which I would recommend tying a string through and keeping it secured in your bag/case, as it may be easy to lose.

This part is great! It's light yet durable. The mount is strong and aligns well with the rail. When in the down position, it sits low and out of the way. The flip-up switch is ergonomic and the action is swift. I also like that the adjustments don't require any tools. I had compared this to a metal iron sight (a different brand) and the metal iron sights are heavy in comparison. In addition, the metal finish wore-off at the pivot points after a couple of flip-ups and downs.I was concerned that the material would be flimsy and could easily snap off the rail. To my surprise this part is well made and durable enough to take a beating. It zeroed with a little adjustment and expect it will be my back-up sight for life.

I have to say this is my favorite buis for my ar15. I have the Ruger set and have it on my Anderson AR15 with a 12 inch Key-mod rail. When out to the range and start at 100 yards. I'm using Perfecta .223 ammo on this review. Also this review is all about hitting the target not groups.Looks/Feel: Its all polymer (Don't let it fool you.) The size of it is smaller then Magpul gen 2. So if you want you can put a red dot or a scope if you so desire to. It hold very firm, no wiggle.One thing was odd that the rear sights only has peep sights no combat sights. Just peep sight.Function: Fortunate for me the sights was already sighted in 100 yards alright with very little tweets on my part. I was shooting 1.5 foot (18 inch) Mickey Mouse target plate. So I put in 20 rounds at Mickey and didnt miss once.So I went back to 200 yards mark to see what it can do. I put 5 test rounds to sighted it in. So did another 20 rounds at Mickey, out of 20 I hit 17. I know the 3 I miss is cause of my error not the gun. Again this review is all about hitting the target not groupings. I'm not that good of a shooter.Overall: Ruger did a pretty dang good job making their sights. Holding 200 yards? I cant complain. You have nothing to lose on this.

I only write a review if something is really good or really bad. This is THE BEST rear flip up sight for the money. I purchased this "used" for $19.99. If you are looking for a cheap rear back-up sight, this is without a doubt the best option for your money. There are a few generic sights available here on Amazon, and I have purchased a few different ones, but why take the chance of buying one that has even the slightest possibility of a defect when you have the option of the Ruger Rapid Deploy Rear sight? It's very well made, you don't have to hold the button to fold the sight down, and it is a lower profile than the Magpul BUS.Best option for a budget rear sight without sacrificing quality, hands down.
