I've had trouble with ALL Rugger Ridge(R) products. It seems they just don't test fit their items and you have to force and finesse things. These have double sticky back tape on them BUT, it doesn't go the complete distance between the ends of the piece. There are gaps in the tape and the piece is already separating (2 days after install) from the body. I moved the tabs on the bottom to try to get a better fit.....nope. I opened the slots for the screws hoping that would allow for a pressure at the top....not so much.I will try a small bead of caulking to keep water from getting behind these, Maybe a ridged black metal strip and sheet metal screws across the top? They look great for 10 feet away.

The product didn’t come with instructions so I found the ones from rugged ridge online. I followed them to a T and the adhesive strips kept popping off. As of now the front half of both sides is not connected at the top. I will be trying an adhesive when I can to try and solve the problem

Fantastic item! Looks great and fits great. Easy install. Some people on here are saying the holes don't line up. That's because they are on the wrong side. It's very important to note that the 2 pieces they send you ARE NOT IDENTICAL. They are each for a specific side. Test fit one side and if it doesn't line up, try the other side and the holes on the bottom will line up perfectly

Was surprised to find out this was plastic. Guess we missed that when we ordered it. Feels and looks very cheap. Did not install it - returned it immediately. This should be about $15 not $100. There are lots of real metal checker plate options available

i read all the reviews, many complaining about drilling holes? which I don't see where the need would be. the holes are already there from the factory and lined right up. also read complaints about them not being able to withstand a rock hit? well...no sh** its plastic! it is purely a cosmetic piece designed to get rid of the goofy lower flare extension, covers the holes left after you remove that piece and protect from rock chips. installed in less than 30 min total and am vey pleased with the result. I don't crawl my jeep anyway and just wanted a better look. mission accomplished! i know haters going to say its a "mall crawler".... YEP sure is. its a 17 year old TJ and looks like its 2 . product is a little overpriced for a couple pieces of plastic and a bag of screws but it is what it is. overall very pleased and will probably buy another set for the YJ.

Well I ordered these and they arrived fast. Before purchasing, I read many reviews. There were far more positive reviews than negative, so I got them. A few things to get before they arrive, spray or brush on enamel to cover bare metal to prevent rusting if water gets in the gaps. Get outdoor strength double sided adhesive. Make sure to fill in the gaps as much as possible with the extra tape. Clean surface area with rubbing alcohol to help adhesive work better. The rocker guards are plastic, so if they don't align perfectly with the stock holes, no worries, drill the plastic, then they'll fit. They look great on my 01 TJ. I'm not doing any serious off roading, just wanted my Jeep to look cool after I took off the flare skirts and installed my new Tyger rock slides. This item is worth the money if you desire a cosmetic fix.

I was excited after all the reviews to get these and install them. I was hoping to cover up some trail damage from my last mountain run. But I was pretty disappointed... The way it mounts it real cheesy - the tape is cheap looking and full of gaps and it sort of hangs on chassis brackets. I pretty much expected that they would fall off the first time I hit a dirt road.Holes don't line up. When mounted it doesn't sit snug on bottom of rocker, so clearly the first time even a pebble hits it the guard will self destruct.I already took this garbage off my rig and am just waiting for the next hardware upgrade. The plastic is also brittle so as you are modifying mounting holes to get it to align, there is a good chance to crack the plastics. In reality this is the worst accessory I've ever purchased for my TJ and it's a real bummer.Save your money for SRC, Poison Spider or other real rocket guards!

Look, these aren't for rock climbing. These are for looks. If you think these are gonna stand up to some real crawling you're crazy. I have some tubular side steps that I utilize as side armor... they take all the beating. I purchased these to cover the holes leftover from my stock side fascia skirt Jeep put on in the factory that I ripped off. They do just that... cover the holes, look the part, and were a quick and cheap way to knock that out. The 3M tape is solid. They are PLASTIC... no drilling required, but you do need to screw them into the stock holes UNDER the Jeep sides. Once again they are NOT rock protection but they will withstand regular wear and tear.

These are pretty self explanatory. They would look decent on your rig but there are some things worth noting. They for one don`t come with any sort of gasket to go between the upper edge where it runs along the rocker panel below the door, and you are able to see the glue strips, which also do not run the length of the product. there are about six, maybe 8cm in length a piece in sections. So it kinda looks tacky up close. Also they sit fairly flush, and will have a ripple in them behind the front wheel if you don`t knock out or grind off the factory body holes where the bolts go to hold the factory splash guard (behind the front flare). They are like plugs pressed in the sheet metal with threaded holes for the mounting bolts of said splash guard. I returned them simply because I found a set cheaper locally from a friend, but I do have them on my TJ - they are almost a must if you have rock rails. It completes the look! I just wish they were maybe constructed a little better. Still - a good buy at ~60 bucks. Hope this helps someone!
