Looked like a really nice, solid piece until I tried to install it. Winch mounting holes are not in a good location. Tried turning the fairlead bolts around so the nuts were out the front, still can't get the winch far enough forward to line up with the mounting holes in the plate. Needs to be moved to the rear at least 1/4 maybe a half inch.Trying to mount a Warn evo 12S.Read the reviews before buying.

This is a sturdy winch mount and has a nice rasied platform but has a few issues and may require some modification depending on what your needs are. I am mainly using this to mount my winch to the floor of my garage to pull cars onto my lift. The problem with mounting this to a flat surface is that there's a reinforcing bracket on the rear of the mount that hangs below the flat mounting area. This would work on most bumper mounts but I had to cut off the excess 3/16" thick metal to get it to sit flat on the concrete. The other issue is that the mounting holes for the winch are too close to the fairlead mounting area which didn't leave enough room for the front of my badlands apex winch. I had to end up using a grinder to turn the holes into slots which allowed me to mount the winch further back on the mounting area. I've used it a few times and have no complaints after I've made my modifications, if you have the tools and patience you can make this work for any application.

Ive been running this mount for over a year. It is very sturdy and very well made. All of the welds are solid and the paint is very durable as well. It installed without fuss onto my jeep, and allowed my winch and fairlead to be installed without the need for modification before hand. It has been put to the test on more than a few occasions and has held up extremely well. It's a simple enough part that can be overlooked when outfitting a vehicle, however having a winch mount that allows energy to be transferred to the frame without shifting, bending, or having welds fail is extremely important. I tend to use winch blocks when I can, which doubles the pull strength of a winch, and its still just as solid as the day I recieved it. The fact that it sits on the nose of a vehicle that sees a lot of shrubbery, dirt, rocks, and mud, as well as things flung up from the road from vehicles in front of me on the highway and is still maintaining its origibal finish/appearance without chipping or fading says a lot as well. I can't recommend this mount enough.

This was a fabulous learning experience for my 11 year old ... basically, read your instructions and think your way thru the project. You probably have to bolt your winch to the plate before installing it and you absolutely must install the fairlead first - the Poison Spyder 45-45-010 isn't cheap but it looks terrific. This mount is heavy duty construction, perfect fit and a very nice looking finish. I've owned many Jeeps since the first one I bought new in 1977, and I've mounted winches to most of them. My current winch is a Warn (NEVER had a Warn issue) Zeon 10,000 Synthetic ... if you ever saw a steel cable break under load, you'd use synthetic cable if your application allows it.

Although intended for a Jeep application, this Rugged Ridge Winch Plate was used for a 12,000 lb. electric winch mounted at the front of a tilt deck equipment trailer. The design (including the reinforcing gusset under the winch pedestal area), steel cutting, frame / winch mount holes, welding, and paint (could be powder coating) are one hundred percent quality throughout. The mounting plate has four holes on each end, allowing for variations in attaching this winch plate to a truck or trailer frame. The winch mounting holes have been drilled (punched) for the common 4 1/2 inch x 10 inch electric winch. Topping it off, the packaging provides excellent protection of the quality black finish while in shipping. Nuts and bolts are not included. If your application is for other than a Jeep, measure what is needed (whether standard or metric), and pick them up locally. This product deserves better than five stars.
