This converts a 50amp male to a 30amp male plug for those of us with 50amp rv's to be able to plug into a 30amp outlet. Was really happy to find this one in particular since it has a built-in circuit breaker! I actually was able to get the same thing but it was the 50amp rv side to a standard 20amp plug. The built in circuit breaker is really what I love about this. I just feel far safer knowing that this will trip rather than potentially fry my RV! I wish every single RV cable that existed had a built in breaker.... it could save lives! I almost feel like this should be required... I'll use this one, and for those that don't care then you use yours!

This RVGUARD Overload Protector 30 Amp to 50 Amp RV Adapter Cord with Circuit Breaker is a must have for any RV owner. The built in, re-settable circuit breaker is a game changer! It acts as a surge protector, stopping a surge at the circuit breaker, preventing it from accessing and damaging either the campground electricity source or your RV! Also, because it is resettable, it is not a "one and done" product, as others are. They have used excellent, heavy duty materials in the manufacturing of this product. We are very happy to have this cord in our camping arsenal!

I have had this in my power connectors box waiting for the use chance to use it. Well, that came the other day when I had to up-convert my AC source from 30amp to 50amp. Something told me I needed extra circiot protection and so I put this inline between the outlet and my 50amp surge protector. I had the RV plugged into the surge protector. As soon as everything was connected, everything went dark inside the RV.. Immediately I noticed the little light on this circuit breaker adapter was not on. I popped the breaker in this adapter. Initial thought , good, at least I didn't pop the breaker inside the house. Sure enough, I found the problem in the RV and it wasn't creating enough short to pop my 50amp breaker, but it popped the 30, which is exactly what this adapter was designed to do.Materials and the feel are very durable, this adapter will last a long time, and given the performance, I am going to look into their other adaptors.

When you need power to your 50amp RV and are using a larger generator or, at place that only provides 30 amps, this is a must have item.The 10 gauge wire is composed of 100% copper and will handle the 30 amp load. The RVGUARD 30 Amp to 50 Amp RV Adapter Cord has a handle with finger grips which allow for easy insertion/extraction of the 30amp plug. At the base of the 30amp plug, there is a power indicator letting one know if power is on. In the event of a power spike, the built-in 30amp resettable breaker will trip thus protecting your RV electrical system.In all, this power cord has it all for 30 amp service while using your RV's 50amp line.I feel the price of $19.99 is more than reasonable and recommend this product to others.

This 30 Amp adapter to use with 50 Amp plugs, but for 30 Amp max draw is nice to have for RVers and EV owners. If you are at a campground or at a friends house that has a NEMA TT-30P 30 Amp receptacle you can hook up your NEMA 14-50R 50 Amp plug IF you have a way to throttle your power to only use less than 30 Amps.The things I considered when writing this review:DESIGN: Is the design of this plug better than others? Yes, I really like the 90 degree turns which reduces the tension on the receptacle. I like that it is long enough to hang outside the box but remains above ground. I especially like the finger holes which allow a firm grip on the plug to remove it from the receptacle. Some people don't have the finger strength to pull them apart - these grips on both ends are great. It has a green light upstream of the breaker so it tells you if your main outlet has power.CONSTRUCTION: It is 10 gauge - enough for 30 amps. It is protected by a 30 Amp breaker. I am very impressed by the weight of this adapter. It's beefy. Important to me in Minnesota is whether the rubber/plastic does well in sub-zero weather. I tested this outside and it gets stiff, but was still able to be bent without breaking after leaving in sub-zero temps overnight. This is important for EV owners who may use this to charge outside in the cold weather. I was able to hook up a Tesla portable charger to this adapter and set my charge to 28 Amps in the App.I included several photos of close-up details, including measurements of the adapter. One important note is the 3/4" inch limitation where the cable drops down only 3/4" from the flat face of your main 30 amp receptacle. If your receptacle is 2 inches inside a box, this adapter may not fit. It isn't common to have a receptacle set this far back in the box, but for those with this limitation, take note of the measurements.Overall I have this product a 5-star rating due to construction, materials, and being priced below $20 - a great value. Most of the time while traveling, we are able to get 50 amp power sites. There are occasions where the RV sites are only 30 amp. You could bring along a 30 amp cord, more weight and just another item to bring, or bring this dog bone which will allow you to plug your 50 amp RV cord into a 30 amp plugin. This adapter splits into two lines inside the 50 amp female side so you will get power to both legs of your RV but still only 30 amps total as that is what the site disconnect box is able to give. A great item to carry with you on your RV trips. Has overload protection and has a reset button if the circuit breaker inside the adapter does trip, very nice item for the price.
