How to choose the length of carbon stem 31.8 ?
Stem length is measured from the center of your steer tube to the center of your handlebar clamp along the central axis of your stem.
Stem length can affect the responsiveness of the bicycle. A longer stem will cause slower bike response, while a shorter stem will react much more quickly. Mountain bike stems are typically around 50-80mm long, while road bike stems are longer, starting at around 80mm and extending to 130mm or longer as the frame size increases. Gravel bike stems typically sit somewhere between the two.Please select a stem according to your type of biking.
Notes of installation:
1. Measure diameter of steerer tube and handlebar to be certain it is correct size for stem installation.
2. Follow the specified tightening torque (4Nm), Max Torque Clamping to Bar:5Nm, Torque specs for all bolts is 3-5 Nm.
3. Apply dynamics carbon paste on steerer tube,Apply assembly gel to stem fixing bolts. Tighten the steerer fixing bolts by alternating between bolts 1/4 turn at a time so both bolts reach proper torque simultaneously.
4. Put the carbon fiber paste in between the cap and body of stem,insert handlebar between stem body and face plate, Apply assembly gel to faceplate bolts and tighten the stem steerer fixing bolts 1/4 turn at a time in an X-pattern to tighten faceplate evenly on handlebar.

You cannot tighten it enough to properly support the handlebar, so the handlebar moves when going over bumps, etc. The problem appears to be (see picture) that the nuts embedded in the carbon are moving out as I tighten. I tightened according to specs, but it still will not hold the handlebar tight. Does not work properly.

Good quality stem functions as advertised. One strange detail is two different size pinch bolts for clamping to the fork steerer tube.

I wanted to convert my Tri-bike with bull horns to drop bars. In order to do that, I had to find a stem to fit my carbon fiber bars. This stem was the perfect fit. Easy to install and has the look and feel of carbon fiber. Please use a torque wrench when tightening the bars. Specs are printed on the bars. Grip gel maybe helpful. I experienced a few pops where my bars moved during a ride. So far I've cycled over 100 miles and stem is solid.
