This converter is good but the s output isn't great. I think for 10 bucks it's good. But it's if you can save up for something a little more expensive, do it! 3/5 for me. Easy to install and to connect though.

This device works only with RCA to HDMI (terrible video quality)I needed to use my Sony Camcorder S-video output to HDMI, which does not work.I forgot to return it now I'm stuck with this converter. If you need a S-video to HDMI converter, look somewhere else.

The converter works great and has 2 display settings on the converter. One setting stretches to fit your screen and the other display it normally. Other than USPS being a couple of days late I am very happy with how the converter works it's very easy to setup, just make sure you have a double ended HDMI cable handy you will need it for the converter to work. The connection works great and the color is great too.

I was looking for a way to hook up my old video game systems to my TV in order to see if they still work, as some have not been 'fired up' in quite some time, ever since most new HDTV's no longer include RCA input jacks. Although I have quite a collection of old consoles, I was mainly interested in the ones that can be hooked up using the RCA composite video connection for now. Received the converter today, and although it does come with a USB (micro) cable, there is no power adapter included (this was stated in the product description), and no other cables (i.e. no RCA composite video cable or HDMI cable) included, so you'll need to supply your own. Although the manual states 5V being needed for the adapter voltage, there's no mention of the amperage or on the device itself. It must not use a whole lot of power though, as I was able to hook the converter up to my TV's USB port, which has a 500 ma rating, and not seeing any issues. This converter is a bit more expensive than the others I saw more prominently on Amazon's website...some of those cheaper converters have reviews mentioning lag or bad picture/sound from them, but this converter seems to do the job well with no video lag or audio lag. I tested a Sega Dreamcast. Sound was clear and no buzzing. Colors were spot on and although the video output is not nearly as crisp as what you get on today's consoles, it is pretty much what I expected when a 480i video signal (standard for RCA composite video) is sent to a larg'ish 55" HDTV and upconverted to 480p/720p...everything gets blown way up in size so it comes out kinda fuzzy...the larger the TV, the more fuzzy things get, which is unavoidable. Converters that mention outputting to a 1080p signal won't make much of a difference since the picture quality will only be as good as what is coming in, which is stuck at 480i anyway...since this converter only does up to 720p, it doesn't have to work as hard as the converters that can upscale to 1080p, which might be why those tend to have lag...just a guess on that though since I have not tested any other converters, just this one.

Pulling S-Video out of a Sega Saturn, the picture is clear. Colors are more accurate to what is expected. There is no perceivable latency when playing faster games. This device does not seem upscale the picture very noticeably, if at all, which is what I wanted. There are no issues with audio. It does, however, offer a 720p output option that boxes in the video about 10%, and ends up helping with compatibility. While overscan helps to fix this, you can also use the zoom feature on either the device or your TV. Since I am not looking for upscaling (which often adds a ton of lag), this product was perfect for a game console like the Sega Saturn.
