the wires were reversed and didnt slot in quite right. the shaft on motor was shorter

This motor is a direct replacement for the original, except for one issue. The red and black leads are in the wrong position in the connector, causing the low and high speeds to work just the opposite of the marking on the switch. To resolve the problem, I used a terminal release tool to remove those two wires from the connector and reversed them.

Junk… also, the red wire was crimped with exposed metal wires.

This is a well built unit, with a proper heft and solid construction. The performance is also impressive. It actually seems to run a little better than the OEM part it’s replacing. It slotted in perfectly, making for a very easy installation, and overall has been a great value product.

The only difference was the black and red wires were swapped on this vs the original. The fan turns on high first now then low. Not a problem at all. If I wasn't a beginner at home repairs, I'm sure I could have swapped those wires and made it function like the original, but it works perfect for us and is actually quieter than the original.

The only minor drawback was that the plug did not fit. I had to replace the plug with the motor I was replacing on the range hood
