I needed to enlarge an opening in a drawn over mandrel (DOM) steel round tube and this was the best burr I have ever used in a pneumatic die-grinder to date.Usually this type of "work-around" takes a few minutes of sitting there and cheese-grading though a tube that is near impossible to get drill bit behind. Now, by the end of getting there, the hole size is about where you need it, but your store bought burr is now just spinning with no metal shavings coming off. Best thing to do is use another dull burr in your tool box, and hope for the best. But I didn't have to.....This Carbide Burr felt as if it didn't change in its cutting velocity at all and stayed crisp and sharp the entire process. Even the most expensive and sharpest burrs I've used see some kind decrease in movement across a metal body. This one did not, and it stayed cutting and sharp the whole time.No exaggeration, this was genuinely one of the top 3 memorable power tool moments in my life. I'm no longer upset thinking I need to stop wasting money buying cheap burrs but also ok with not being wealthy enough to make the purchase of the expensive ones.It was so easy to use, it was super durable, it came in the exact size I needed.

This burr will zip through wood pretty easily but takes some time on metal. I used it to widen a hole I drilled through a wooden beam that had a metal bracket running through it. It took a while but it worked, and I was amazed that after all my abuse it didn't lose its sharpness. This is a good tool to have around for those situations where you need to make things fit.

This tungsten carbide cutter is the best I have used so far. I am in the process of modifying a Super-Strutframe built for the top of my truck camper shell, and it did a great job of removing really hard steel to make access holes larger for the installation of security bolts. After finishing eight of these holes there was absolutely no noticeable wear on this burr. For anyone who has used those useless grinder bits sold by many box stores the price for this bit at $10 is easily worth it.

I use burrs for wood and metal working as well as engine building. Carbide burrs stay sharp for a long time and are the best choice for heavier work in ferrous metals and hard woods where HSS burrs would dull quickly. Carbide is very hard but also brittle, so it’s important to avoid catching it on the work which could break the shank. This burr is a “round tree” shape with convex curves on the sides and a rounded tip. It has a double cut pattern (sometimes called a “diamond cut”) which removes stock quickly, has low vibration, and leaves a smooth finish. This type of burr is good for concave surfacing or rounded edges, and I frequently use them when porting cylinder heads, either cast iron or aluminum.I have achieved the best results using a pedal-controlled handpiece with a flexible shaft which allows me to vary the speed as needed, though air or electric die grinders can also be used. A light touch at high-speed works best, and it’s helpful to vary the speed when working in tighter spaces. Too much pressure can clog the burr, especially with non-ferrous metals. A lubricant can help prevent clogging and suitable lubricants for ferrous or non-ferrous metals are available.I have begun porting an aluminum cylinder head with this burr. It seems to be well-made, is the size I need, and is doing a good job.

Got the SL3 model to help get into some tight spots, I've been using it to clean up some welds and edges on some sheet metal projects (mild steel) and it's worked great so far. Came sharp and no imperfections as far as I can tell. Comes in a plastic tube case that holds it securely in place.I haven't tested it against hardened steel or for hours on end but if this thing holds up for a reasonable amount of time it's a winner in my book.

Perfect for getting into tight corners. I'm doing a lot of sheet metal work on my Jeep and this is great for dressing welds in tight 8nside corners where I need to get smaller than a 1/4" radius. Working well, cutting my welds like butter and leaving a smooth finish. No chatter or lines left, just silky smooth finish.

Dulled out my old bit that was almost the same shape, so I bought this one. I was happy to see how fast this eats through material. It grabs so well it would some of the time jump around, the way for me to control this was to increase the speed.
