Installed this new sail switch and thought all was well. But the furnace still failed to ignite. Then performed a deep analysis. Had to call a mobile RV tech ($$$). Found that this sail switch was too stiff which prevented it from working. Had to install another sail switch (with a less stiff spring) and the furnace works fine.

Bought the two pack so I could have spare. Installed on my Class A furnace and never did get it working. Traded the class A off for a 5th wheel toyhauler. While doing the pre-season inspection and cleaning I installed the other switch on the toyhauler furnace. After R & R the furnace 3 times and checking things triple checking all of my work. I decided to meter check the circuitry. The furnace was firing up prior to performing the service. Discovered the sail switch wasn't closing. Used my laser RPM digital tester to check the blower RPM and it was correct. Pushed on the sail switch arm and it closed and the furnace fired up. Installed the old sail switch and it's worked flawlessly ever since. I never did a circuitry test on the furnace in the Class A, but I'm certain that switch wasn't working either. It went with it when I traded, so I can't verify that it was also bad. However, since it worked prior to servicing it, it makes sense that neither switch was properly tensioned to work on the suburban models I purchased them for. According to the description it was the correct sail switch. Lost $500 in trade in value all over a

Description says fits all SF models. But did not work for my Suburban SF-30F. The mobile RV repair guy pulled the one from my furnace and it was a 3a and the ones I was sent are 16a. They didn’t work. Couldn’t get the mobile guy out for 3 weeks and today he was finally able to come out. Now it’s past my window for return.

These sail switches are supposed to be a direct replacement for the the RV heaters in my camper. They are so stiff that the fan in the motors cant close the switch. Even using your fingers they are hard to move. Will not work the way they are described.

The spring in the cell switches are too stiff. The blower does not have enough power to actuate the switch.
