I had a problem with my chickens eating their own eggs. I put these in there roosting box, and now they do not eat their eggs anymore.

Used these for a class project instead of real eggs. So happy I did. They were easy to paint and turned out beautifully.

Nice price and quality. Got these to encourage hens to use the nesting box, and it worked great. The very next day they had used it after putting the wooden eggs in (after over a month of not using it).

SallyFashion 15Pcs Unpainted Wooden Fake Easter Eggs Adorable wood eggs arrived in a nice egg carton. Nice gift if you like painting wood eggs. I didn't have enough time to paint the eggs in time for Easter Baskets.

The wood is heavy enough to feel like a real egg. The pecking and eating of eggs has gone way down. I just move the fakes into different nest every few days. One wood egg got pecked so often the first month it has a dent in it. I keep between 18 and 50 hens on free range and have about 30 nest boxes in the hen house. I just realized these wooden eggs are labeled for crafts, but many hen keepers have a problem with hens pecking and eating the fresh eggs in the nest. Putting hard fake eggs in the nest boxes is one way to stop the problem without resorting to cruel methods. It has worked very well for me.

At time of purchase (about 3 weeks ago), these were priced about $1/egg so I found them a good value. They were smoothly sanded (but not overly so) with no splinters or cracks. My family used them for an Easter craft that we wanted to be able to reuse for this year and many years to come; we painted them with acrylic paints and then used a heat gun to attach (shrink) decorative shrink wraps from Shining Light Dolls onto them after paint had dried. They came out beautifully, taking both paint and heat very well. I would buy more if they were available right now to have on hand for next year, but as of this writing, they are currently unavailable.
