I find this the best way to clean a boat removing salt and environmentally friendly. My boat’s on a slip so I lightly spray this over the whole boat after most uses and wait a few minutes and hose off with greasy water. And it doesn’t take polymer coating or waxes off. Perfect to keep boats and engines in tip top shape. I also flush my outboard with it after most uses.

I now write this review having tested the product. I have a new motor and after the first change of the internal anodes I had considerable salt build up. After that I tried Salt Away and very noticeably upon chaning my internal anodes again the salt build up was visibly less. I use a Star Brite Salt Off Applicator and it has worked without breaking for 2 years. Please note that you only need a small amount of Salt Away formula in the applicator cannister to do the job. There is no need to fill the applicator cannister more than a 1/4 full. Doing this also makes it last for many flushes. I now use this product religously after each outing.

Product worked well, but the canister leaks. Blue liquid everywhere. O-ring in place but still manages to seep through.

I use this every time I wash my boat. Works great. I dilute it and spray with a pressure washer and then I just rinse everything off. Makes it a very easy job.

I live near salt water and bought my 2012 Yamaha VX jet ski used. I noticed that the water outlet tube wasn't shooting any water and would over heat sometimes. I had planned to tear the block down and remove the salt corrosion in the water jackets. However, I thought I would try flushing it with Salt-Away. While I know it is not designed for my intended use but I figured it couldn't hurt. I flushed the system twice with Salt-Away and Noticed I started to have water communing out of the water outlet, it was only a dribble but it was an improvement. I ran the ski that weekend for 4 hours and did not have an overheating problem. I have continued to use Salt-Away after every time I take my ski out and I feel it is helping to break down the salt corrosion in my block. Maybe it is and maybe its not but I would like to think it is.I also use Salt-Away to wash down the ski, it works great. I run my ski in saltwater and when I get home I flush the engine then use the remaining to wash the ski. It quickly and effortlessly removes the salt spray that is all over the ski. I wash down the hull, gauges, seat and in the engine compartment with it. When I spray the Salt-Away on the ski I do have a car scrubber that I go over the outside of the hull with but I do not have to apply any pressure and then rinse with regular water. The ski comes out squeaky clean. You sure can tell the difference between my ski and my brothers in-laws ski that he only washes his down with regular water.
