The material the bags are made of is mesh like, when water hits the bag the sand just flows right out of it, I would only use these if you need to hold something down, not hold back water.

Great product. The newly added handles make the sand bags easy to move once filled. Highly recommend.

When rain water or draining water comes to the bag it is diverted pretty much; about 90%. The problem is that the sand in the bag seeps out quite a bit leaving sand all over the place. The bags are too porous to completely hold the sand. Needed it to divert rain water from my tiled deck and I had sand all over the tile with some staining. Tried gravel and it greatly lowered the amount of diverted water. Useless for my needs.

Durable material, weighs around 35-40lb when full, round profile fits nicely for runoff control in garden and stops water cold, green color blends in well, a bit pricey for five bags but cost $4 at materials place to fill so very happy with the results.

I have a new erosion problem caused by climate change: sudden, brief, pounding downpours such as we have never seen before in our region - several times a day, several times a week, totaling up to several inches of rain each day - also as we have never seen before. These sandbags are part of my attempts to mitigate the problem. I believe they are helping where I installed them. I created a small tree-branch 'dam' on the upward side of them, and put pond stone on the area above that which pools, both in order to slow down the water. I placed large rocks at the lower end of the line of sandbags, for the same purpose, I hope. All together, I believe this is helping. Now there is erosion in a new place, further uphill - I plan to put a mix of sand and topsoil in my remaining sandbag, and punch little holes in the top to root sedum ground cover. Will probably try to root sedum in the sand filled ones already in place as well. Hopefully by the time these sandbags disintegrate (a few years, they say) the sedum will have firmly ensconced itself and solve the problem longterm.

I bought these sandbaggy to hold down a tarp on my roof during heavy rain & wind. I filled them with medium size gravel around 40 lbs in each bag. I've tried so many different things to weigh down the tarp and it always would blow off. Sandbaggy I must say is holding stuff. Good product I do recommend this

Found that pores of bag allow sand to seep through. Did not use play-ground sand as previous reviews stated it was to fine and seeped through pores of fabric. I used a coarser sand and that too is seep through some. But over all I am pleased with the quality and look of the bags.

Bags held sand and worked well to prevent flooding of moderate proportions. Because the bags are so narrow, the mouth is small and can make adding sand troublesome.
