This is an artificial (PolyUrethane) leather checkbook cover. There is a removable plastic divider that can be used between duplicate checks to prevent marking the duplicate of the next check below it. On the other side there is a plastic divider that is attached to the long outside edge. The slots in the center are wide enough to easily insert a pen, and the pen does not keep the cover from closing at all. I write a few checks every month, and my old checkbook cover is very worn. This will be a nice replacement.
