Don't waste your money on a peloton and subscription. All you need is this trainer, a bike, and youtube. It takes some getting use to but is a much better workout than a stationary bike. Use a trainer for a few months and you'll be a much better rider on the road and trails.

Growing up, I had a Blackburn Trackstand that stood out for its durability and portability. While static wind and mag trainers are fine for aerobic training, riding rollers were always a goal that stood as an achievement for any decent road cyclist. When the chance to try this Saris unit came up, it seemed that late was better than never and after 2 months of use twice a week, these rollers have held up decently well. For the first month, they were positioned in the doorway and even then a small lack of concentration would see me lose the front. In the weeks following, the technique started coming back and as I became more attuned to the power output and could build up some stamina, the training sessions actually became fun. In use, the bands have exhibited no decrease in tension and while the rollers aren’t the quietest around, they do roll very smoothly and the fact that they can be folded in half and stored away makes these a good option. There does seem to be some other brands that seem to be a bit better built as this set from Saris does feel slightly less rigid than they should be.

Nice ride. Missing parts. The c-connectors and 4 lock nuts were not included. Fortunately it is easy to fix.

Saris Aluminum Rollers Indoor Bike Resistance Trainer Cycling Exercise Training Enhance Your Balance For Mountain Biking, Racing & Strength Training.I was not looking forward to setting this up, I got all my tools out and opened the box. Surprise, there is no set up. You literally open the box, slide it out, unfold it, make sure the band is on the pulleys as mine had been discombobulated in transit and you are good to go. There are no latches or catches or anything like it so folding it back up is as easy as it was to unfold and set it up.There is no resistance settings, only the speed you are going and the gear you are in. It maybe easier to master on a roadbike than a bike with fatter tires like a mountain bike that I have.My only concern which may be totally unfounded is that the band (silicone ?) Has an obvious glue butt joint so I worry it may break there.Thank you for reading my review and looking at my photos of this product. I hope you found it helpful!REVIEW PHILOSOPHY: I only review a product if it is something I am capable of critically evaluating through comparison, testing and use. This means I have experience of using similar items; or that I have equipment or tools that I can test it with; or that I have an upcoming need so I can actually use. I am as selective about getting an item to review as I would be about purchasing that same item, so yes, I expect it to be a good product. My reviews are NOT based on packaging or if it was delivered timely.

I've been cycling for decades but I've never used rollers before, and it's honestly like learning to ride a bike all over again.Assembly is relatively easy but you'll need to adjust the front roller until you find the right spot for your wheel to rest. The center of the front roller should be slightly forward of your front hub for the best stability. Once you've got that sorted out, then you have to figure out how to ride, and that's the tricky part.Riding your bike on rollers is a skill so don't expect it to be easy the first time you try. Find a spot next to a wall or between two pieces of sturdy furniture to help keep you upright. I also recommend sticking with platform pedals until you're comfortable enough on the rollers to use clipless pedals. From the start, you're going to notice a lot of resistance. This is normal, and as a beginner, it can be a challenge to find a compromise between your cadence and gearing. The front end will quickly go off the rollers if you're geared too high and haven't gotten accustomed to the steering. Remember, even though your wheels are spinning, you have no momentum so your balance is completely reliant on keeping your front wheel in line with the rear.So given the difficulty, why would you want to ride rollers? Here's my motivation. Aside from the fitness aspect, rollers teach you good habits about balance and holding a line as you ride. If you've ever ridden in a paceline, you'll already understand the importance of keeping your line and riding consistently. There really aren't any other training options besides group rides and purpose-built treadmills that provide that sort of reinforcement. As far these rollers are concerned, they're well made but in my opinion, the cost somewhat exceeds the quality. There are a number of similar products at a lower price point, and more than a few better products at or below the same cost.

I would recommend this product to any novice cyclist who is interested, sure getting on and riding rollers the first few times will be scary. Watch some Youtube videos for tips and do your first sessions by a wall so you can lean when you get a bit wobbly. But putting the time in to get comfortable will be 100% worth it as the rollers really make you focus on your pedaling form, so that when you transition back to the roads you can put additional power into your pedal stroke. This is a tough workout for a novice as I found I had to pedal a lot faster than I would outdoors to keep myself balanced but in the long run it builds stamina. All in all a great buy to improve my overall cycling skills.

I have never used rollers but decided to give this a try and I can tell you this Do not buy this roller, (Saris CycleOps Aluminum Roller for Indoor Bike Trainer.)Way overpriced for the quality of the product. The 'rubberband" rubs against the frame and is not going to last very long, vibration also causes it to rub against the carpet, and will cause black marks on the carpet. The rollers should have raised ends so the front wheel does not drift off when you are not paying close attention. One of the rollers is already out of round. The way the two frames are joined is especially annoying. for example when getting off the bike the frame joint where the two attach pops up and you have to reset. I should not have to deal with this awful design flaw.would never purchase again and seriously considering sending it back for a refund. There are way better rollers on the market for the same price; all of this discovered after using this roller for only two weeks.ES.
