Ford made their debut in 2016, 50 years after the legendary win to come back and win it again in their beautifully designed Ford GT GTE. Ford Returned to Le Mans in 2016 on the 50th anniversary of their famous 1-2-3 victory in the Ford GT40, now in the third generation, the supercar Ford GT LMGTE. This model is an homage to the first generation Ford GT40 in their Le Mans victory in 1966 in the Gulf livery showing how far Ford has come in technology, design and power and showing no plans of slowing down.

1st time using it, the guide broke out of the chassis, and won't stay in now. Scalextric doesn't sell a plain chassis, and a GT 40 chassis won't work. The car is useless now. Bought another on Ebay for less $ and have this one as a parts car now. Not sure if it was workmanship or the track at the hobby store where we race that broke it.

I bought this and the Lotus Evora which is cheaper. There is a limited difference between the two. Both look very good, very detailed. The Lotus is a little lighter and the wheel base is maybe a 1/4 shorter. Out of the box the Lotus had some issues. One of the brake lights didn't work and it seems a bit finicky about its track connection. Whereas the Ford GT, all the lights work very well and it's pick up, even designed the same way, has lesser issue in energy transfer. The Ford GT is also slightly faster and less noisy than the Lotus Evora. At the end of the day, I could have bought two Lotus Evora for the price of one of the Ford GT models but I'm happy to own both.

This is a great car. The detailing is fantastic, and it handles quite nicely on track. Update: The chassis broke where the pickup mounts/rotates. A real shame. Seems to be a weak point - the car didn't even leave the track in the crash, it just spun and snapped the holder.
