I love it. XLR for the balanced (well, sort of) win. It’s one hella powerful headphone amp. Sounds great as well. Recommend for your Schiit stack.👍

Great sounding headphone amp. I remember when a decent sounding headphone amp was only found in the Headphone subculture, made by hobbyists. They were decent sounding affairs but most used op amps in the signal path and that degraded the sound but made the amp economical. Schiit and ChiFi has changed all that. This a GREAT SOUNDING head amp period. It compares very favorably to a $2K headamp I have and I wish I had heard this before buying that one. Highly recommended and for the price it is a no brainer and you are supporting a US based business.

.. I enjoy classical and jazz in club settings. Vertical layering and the segmented space for grouped instruments are better delineated. Chip amps are a single wall in your face. I purchased the Modius E as a companion. Good combo. I can squeeze slightly better performance from Chord or Aune, not that far away actually. Bought for a Summer 🌞 runner.

Feeding the Midgard from the Hifiman 499. Settled on low gain NOS from the 499 to the Midgard via balanced. On the Midgard using high gain. Ayra Organics is the only headphones I have used balanced so far. When I go back and forth from the 499 to the Midgard both calm the highs but the Midgard amplifies the lows just a bit. Neither have the shrill in this configuration. The 499 is more relaxed but the Midgard is just a tad more exposed. When changing NOS to OS from the 499 it doesn’t amplify from low to high.It is interesting to be able to tweak the music simply now. All those filters are never as obvious as this.

This is no doubt an end-game amp for most, at an absolutely reasonable price. I would wish for maybe 25% more power because of the amount of processors I experiment with (EasyEffects/JamesDSP on Linux), both has a ridiculous amount of headroom if you aren't running some EQ etc. Build quality is top-knotch, a massive upgrade from my old Magni, to serve Hifiman Arya Organics. 9/10

I had a topping DAC that I had originally planned to connect to a more expensive unit. In the end that didn't happen and I needed to get something that would work with it, take less space and work w my headset. After reading reviews and chatting w others in the head space... I took the plunge. These sound way better than they should. I have a Brooklyn DAC + that I'm comparing w this combo (that costs about 10X).I am using Audrivana 3.5 and Audrivana Origin (2.5.5). Simply grinning ear to ear.The AKG 701 is a good match for these.I also have Status Core (for travel) and that sounds reasonable.I will likely take to India for late night listening when I work there. Yes buy and have a huge smile.
