This was an inexpensive but sturdy set. Probably only best for older students because the tip is SHARP.

Compasses are good enough for what I needed it for. Unfortunately a few of them came broken (the lock part to hold the pencil in place is broken, making the compass useless).

While easy to use, these break too easily to be used in the classroom

I have two types of compasses in my classroom and all of my students prefer these. The pointed tip makes these compasses easier to use. I do find that the compasses loosen over time and I have not found a way to successfully tighten them.

I bought these for my classroom and most of them are alright but I'd say half of them the little thing that holds the pencil is loose. So it doesn't hold the pencil correctly.

I use these with students in grades 5-12. I keep a classroom set for math and algebra classes where they are used occasionally, and I give them to all my geometry students who need to use them frequently. Love the pointy point! Out of the dozens and dozens I’ve purchased, fewer than five have completely failed. The loose pencil problem can be solved easily by folding a small piece of paper and placing it with the pencil in the clamp. I remember doing this in high school. For the price, the quality is great.
