We can clearly see where this dagger took its design from . It’s no where near a Mark 2 but a great dagger for the price. These newer ones come with a nice kydex style sheath that has positive retention. Fairly sharp but remember, this is a dagger . They are made for certain situations, great for self defense / personal protection . This type of knife was originally designed for our troops in the jungles of SE Asia / Vietnam. That should be self explanatory, this isn’t your camping knife . Never forget our POW / MIA . Great knife and price.

Awesome knife!Very sharp on both sides of the blade and the serrated parts on both sides of the blade, too!Serrated blades are a bonus!Perfect size to hang from off my belt and stick in my back pocket! The sheath that comes with the knife will come off your belt if you just pull the knife out; great retention at the cost of just pulling the knife out…I’ve learned to just push against the sheath with my thumb to release the knife; I’m not worried about the knife falling out and the clip holds well enough that I’m not worried about loosing the knife and the sheath as I ride my m’cycle or driving. You are not gonna use a leather sheath with this very sharp knife!Just use my thumb push method!Confession time!I did reconfigure the clip so that it’s got a better grip at the belt…needle nose pliers with a little twist so that the clip touches the sheath!

The page was updated after purchase. This review is for the older model, so I can not attest to the quality of the newer models. The Knife I received is not the one now pictured. It is however very similar and seems to have some upgrades since the page was updated. They have upgraded the rubber handle to be less slick with new textures and the serrations on the blade are much longer. on the older model, the blade has shorter serrations and an unsharpened section below them. the knife is very light for its size but it should work just fine for most peoples intended purpose. If you are looking for a decent knife for self defense that you can have stored or on person, if the need arises, then this knifes for you. Be sure to check local laws as this is a large blade. If you want something sturdy that can take a beating check out some other sturdy fixed blade knives.

This is a $19 knife as of this review, and its quality along with the sheath is outstanding at such a price point. Even ignoring price, it's nicely made. I'll throw out the disclaimer that mine arrived slightly bent from the heat treating process, but it was easy enough to straighten it out and get it true. I took a fairly weak magnet and it sticks all the way to the end of the handle, and in straightening it out I was able to see how durable the metal is. The factory edge is sharp, but not overly so, which contrary to popular belief is what you want in a bladed weapon. The handle is nicely sized and shaped, but my hands are on the smaller side(especially versus a man's), and the texture applied ensures a no-slip-grip. I'll also add that it balances nicely at the hilt on my fingers. It conceals quite well despite its size. Would a smaller knife be easier to conceal? Yes, but to maximize your chance at effectively stopping a threat with one or two stabs, so as to not look like a serial murderer by defending yourself, it's what's needed. I hope to never have to use it, but it's nice to have and to know I'm not completely defenseless in the event someone tries things given the turn in recent events.

While it may not be entirely fair, I will be comparing this knife to a Gerber Mk II which clearly seems to be it's inspiration. It is lighter than Mk II and feels less substantial. The handle seems slimmer in the hand. For users with larger hands this may affect grip. The blade had a decent edge on both sides. Edge sufficient to shave callouses but not enough to shave hair. The serrations are fairly aggressive and a bit better than expected. The blade has what appears to be a baked on black non-reflective coating. In my experience, these coatings rarely hold up to hard use, but time will tell. The sheath is leather (a personal preference of mine) evenly dyed and has a decent belt clip (I have seen sturdier clips but they were purchased at premium prices. I like that they took the time to reinforce the leather around the snap which makes opening the "thumb break" a nice one handed task. I would like to have seen lanyard holes at the tip of the sheath for a leg tie. No, it isn't a Mk II, but for the money I think it is solid knife and worth having. It is affordable, handsome and so far I am pleased with the purchase.

This knife is a longer version of the WW2 commando knives. It is serrated which is even better and will stay sharper even longer. This knife is only for attack or defense against a person or animal. It is not a field knife for chopping and cutting up stuff outside in the woods. It is not a camp knife or a survival knife but it could save your life if you know how to use it in a defense situation. The length is deadly and it will puncture thinner leather jackets, access arteries and could slash flesh and muscle very easily. If you don't carry a firearm then this is a knife that could save your life with some training. It is a good quality blade, not at the level of Cold Steel products but all the same very well made and sturdy for one purpose - taking someone out. I highly recommend buying at least one for self defense and it would be a great gift for military guys, family members who insist on taking long walks at night alone and a great knife to have at the ready at home or in your vehicle.

This is a well made knife. It appears to be something of a copy of the Gerber Mark 2 combat dagger which is a copy of the Parker Mark 2 combat dagger. This one can't compare to the others but for this price point it's a good buy, especially if you can't afford a Gerber you can still get the same look with the Schrade. The handle gives a secure grip and the knife is quite sharp out of the box, although most knife enthusiasts usually prefer a sharper knife edge. This is not a Bushcraft or work knife, it is designed for a combat to survival scenario, although it is not truly a survival blade it does have a level of versatility in that it has some serrations on both sides of the blade and the blade is double edged. And that double edge is so desirable in a combat blade as a fighting knife. Overall this knife is light weight, has good grip, a long very effective double edge blade with a guard offering protection to the user, it has serrations on the blade and a lanyard hole for some 550 paracord and a price point you can't beat for a knife of this quality. This knife is not designed for heavy camp chores, chopping or prying tasks, it's a combat/fighter weapon.
