Thus was an excellent STIM project to do with the kids. Very easy to put together, sturdy once assembled, and works great. We had a blast doing this project and have something to enjoy out of it at the end. I definitely recommend this radio kit.

I ordered this as a fun little project to do with our 5-year-old daughter, and it absolutely delivered—though a little patience was required. The materials are similar to what you’d find in a typical wooden model kit. They’re lightweight and inexpensive, but they get the job done without any issues. The speakers, chip, and other hardware all arrived in working order, and for under $20, I can’t complain—except maybe about the instructions. The included instructions are about on par with what you’d expect from IKEA: functional but not always clear. While the project itself is simple, there were a couple of moments where I had to second-guess how things were meant to fit together. Younger kids would definitely struggle with this on their own, which makes sense given the 14+ age recommendation.Despite the occasional confusion, my daughter and I had a great time putting it together. Since she’s still little, some of the steps were tricky for her, but with patience, we built a fully working radio—one she was immensely proud of. That alone makes it worth the price. Add in the fact that it actually sounds decent for what it is and picks up the major stations in our area, and I’d say it’s a solid buy.If you’re looking for a fun and rewarding project, this is one I’d definitely recommend. Buy with confidence!
