I never used the cutter. Bought it because a friend had the exact same tool. Used his a few times and decided to get one of my own. Learned my glass cutting work was coming to an end just after I ordered it. So, I ultimately returned the item.

Good fair priced tube cutter. I use these for boiler sight glass tubes. Works great every time!

Product cuts like it should. Only drawback is there is nothing to stop it from moving from side to side when cutting. But for the price it is great. I recommend it.

This product is a waste of money. The blade is not razor sharp to begin with. It goes dull and the device is rendered unusable before you get to double digits. The device is badly designed and poorly built. It’s flimsy and wobbly. You need to concentrate with one hand to keep the pipe locked in place and not slide. Why no simple locking mechanism to hold the pipe in place and prevent it from sliding is one instance of bad design. Compounded by the lack of scoring wheels. If the wheel was bigger in size and razor sharp it might prevent this being a use a couple of times and toss away product. I would happily pay double if these flaws were addressed. Include a few pieces of durable sanding paper so you don’t have a pipe with a rounded smooth edge and an uneven sharp edge at the other.

The thing works well, but while it's good for occasional use, I don't think it would stand up to daily use. It's a little wiggly at the hinge, but you can work with it. You just need to pay attention and not let it get off track of you go around multiple times, as you will need to do for Pyrex. Also, for Pyrex, rather than just scoring and tapping, as you do with glass, you will want to score the tube, then run the hottest water available over it, then very cold water, them tap it gently. Works like a champ. You can use a torch followed by cold water if you prefer.
