I should confess I thought this was a book type map. It isn't, instead it is a traditional fold out map. Therefore it will not replace Google maps as to use it is to get involved in a wrestling match with it - it could prove fatal when driving, however, it is useful for planning ahead with clear and helpful indicators of places to go and see. It's really big and the font is nice and easy to use.I think it is a little expensive but the quality and detail is good.

This Scotland Touring Map is a great resource for exploring the country, with a clear layout and up-to-date road information. It includes over 1,000 points of interest, detailed town centre maps, and useful tourist information like hostels, picnic sites, and ferry locations. The map is easy to read, well-designed, and packed with useful details, making it perfect for road trips and planning scenic routes. 🗺️ This is a well-made map, as good as others I’ve used, and feels sturdy enough to handle regular unfolding and refolding. Scotland is spread across both sides, with the islands shown in inset panels, making it easy to follow. It’s a large map packed with detail, so it’s best suited for planning at home or in a motorhome rather than trying to use it on the move in a car (as a passenger). The level of detail is impressive, with something marked at almost every turn—castles, viewpoints, picnic areas, ferry routes and more. There’s also a handy reference panel where you can look up an attraction and quickly find its location on the map.🗺️ It seems accurate, though without driving every road, it’s hard to say for certain. Like any map with tourist information, some details will gradually go out of date, but permanent features like viewpoints will always be useful. Roads are clearly colour-coded, and recent updates such as new railway stations, road improvements and tram extensions are included. The key explains all the symbols, though many are labelled directly on the map, making it easy to read. For the amount of detail packed in, it’s excellent value for money, and being a Collins map, it comes from a well-known name in tourist mapping. ✔️

*** Review 2.9 Stars ***ProsFairly Good Quality Map .Shows well most Tourist Sites in Scotland ( See Cons Section ) .At the Same Price as 1.5 pints of Lager in the Pub, I think this is OK Value for Money .ConsThe Map Shows Scotland in a scale of 5 miles to 1 inch ( 3.2 Km to 1 cm ) , but the Outer Hebrides in the Scale of 10.5 miles to 1 inch. The Map Shows Scotland in a scale of 5 miles to 1 inch ( 3.2 Km to 1 cm ) , but both Orkney and Shetland are in a Scale of 8.5 miles to 1 inch.My Daughter Lives in Orkney and this Map is Really Poor Detail for these Islands , you would be better buying the Philips - Big Road Atlas for Britain & Ireland which shows Orkney in a scale 5.25 miles to 1 inch .( These Road Maps are always on Offer , Especially last years Map ) .I Hope this Helps

This map is absolutely huge! It folds out so big you couldn't use it on the go like walking or in the car, but you could absolutely use it the plan a trip in advance. On one side of the map in Southern Scotland and on the reverse is Northern Scotland. It's a pretty good scale for spotting places in the required detail although I'd prefer a map not to be broken, particularly as this one splits around the point I'm actually interested in travelling to.It has a key to major towns but also has a key split into places of interest such as castles, gardens and museums. Places of interest are also written on the map. They are all written in the same font, I wonder if the map might work better if different colours were used for different points of interest. This is a cool map for planning a road trip around Scotland, but for navigating I think a road atlas would be more manageable.
