Installation Tips:
1.Avoid to pull the flex cable too hard. 2.Do not press LCD hard, it is easy to damage. 3.Please search on Youtube to search suitable repair video before installation.
4.Please keep your phone power off and disconnect the battery cable when assembling.
5.Check the screen replacement to make sure the flexible cable in good condition and no debris/visible dust on the connector.
Notes:
If your phone meet with the problems, such as lines on screen, cannot turn on, flash, touch insensitive, etc, please follow steps below:
1.Check the replacement screen to ensure the flex cables are in good condition and no chippings on the interface.
2.Reconnect the flex cables from the motherboard side.
3.Get it charged for minutes and then reboot it.
4.Put the phone in dry environment for hours. Static electricity maybe result in this condition after installing. You just need to leave it alone for a night.

The screen works great! I just wanted to get my data off the phone. But I believe it is better than before I broke my old screen. You have to be able to save the plastic trim and speaker mesh, if you want a good fit. It goes take some fine hand skill to do a good job. You should also use Tesa tape to reattach new screen. Would be nice if plastic trim and good electronic tape came with screen.But would cost more I am sure. Overall excellent new screen. I give very few reviews, only for great products and horrible products. This one is a FIVE!

The screen works, but been experiencing some weird things since installing.Was forced to find a new screen when ours got fried installing a new battery (sigh). And Motorola is not selling brand name replacements anymore. Some 3rd parties are, but this old of a phone is not worth $100 screen replacement. For roughly 1/2 the price this seemed worth the risk.I'm happy to say it works. However, it's definitely different than factory. The touch sensitivity seems different. And there's certain apps and websites that seem to make the screen go crazy. It doesn't make any sense, I don't know why hardware would make a difference, maybe it's a certain set of inputs or rate of change, but when we go to certain places the screen gets all glitchy. Most things work fine, just a few specific things do not - and they were fine before the screen replacement. Nothing deal breaking or earth shattering - just very weird.Giving 4 stars because it's better to have a working phone than a non-working phone... and now our phone works thanks to this screen.

*Update: Replacement item had unopened packaging and correct item. (Not label over the original label like the first one.) Installed quickly and fully functional so far..Shipping and delivery were quick. Item arrived with seal on box broken - lint under sticker as well.Display was visibly 'used' (like unboxed and static cling protectors removed and reinstalled along with cable bent at an odd angle).Display also doesn't appear that it will fit a XT1980-4 as it appears slightly too long.Return/replacement ordered. We will see if the replacement is the correct, unused part.

This product worked well for the first month; however, within the second month lines have begun to appear across the screen. After 2 months I am already feeling like I need to make plans for when the screen dies. In addition the screen seems very fragile. I hope I just got a faulty product; however, I am not going to risk buying an another to see.
