I use this to hold a camera on my wrist in case I drop it. It is made of synthetic material that does fine in water. Unlike similar items, it is not particularly buoyant. That may be a con for you if you want your camera to float, but it's a pro for me because I take my camera scuba diving and thus need it to sink. My only complaint is that the plastic bit is a bit long and might not fit well on someone with a smaller wrist, although I suppose you could cut it to size.

A must have for a knife attached to a BCD. We keep the other end inside a zippered pocket. It kept my wife from loosing her knife twice while scuba diving!
