Stainless steel cannot be picked up with a magnet, these obviously can. Now I have to drive to the UPS Store which is 20 minutes away to return them. If I wanted a ring that was going to rust I could get one from the local hardware store for 69 cents.

Used it in the rigging of a sailboat. Here's how one looks like after 4 months. No abrasion, no harmful chemicals, just a regular sun and water. Rust is obvious.
