The spring-coiled lanyards are easy to use; they work as advertised. They are good size, they are good to hold my waterproof camera and good length to use. They are useful, and they came in two great sets.

I recently used these new scuba diving lanyards on an open-water dive trip, and they were a welcome addition to my dive gear. The high-strength spring-coiled lanyards were perfect for securing my underwater camera and dive light to my buoyancy compensator. The quick-release buckle is convenient when I need to extend my camera for a shot, and it keeps everything securely in place when not in use.The durability of this lanyard is appreciated. The TPU-coated stainless steel and double-stitched nylon webbing supports up to 60 pounds, which gives me peace of mind when attaching my camera kit. On our night dive, I used it to secure my dive light, and it stayed securely attached even in strong currents. The fact that it’s a two-pack makes it doubly useful. This lanyard set definitely makes my dive equipment more secure and worry-free!

I had a lanyard for my underwater camera gear, but it had a stainless steel split ring at one end, thus it was not easy to detach from my camera setup. I saw this one with clips on both end and I thought this set suits the bill.Once I received the item. I can see it is nothing as described. The spring coil is thin coil, not unlike the ones from a notebook coil binding, as you can see when I placed it side to side with my original lanyard, it measures 1/4 the diameter and 1/16th the thickness. The outer layer of the coil is not transparent, so I can't see if there is an actual steel cable under it. Testing the coil with a strong magnet show that it doesn't have the slightest attraction to the magnet, so it is either a top tier 318 stainless steel, or all plastic. By the weight of the coil, it could be at best a few strands of wire. The clip attracts to the magnet, so it is not corrosion resistant. The webbing is ultra thin, as the picture shows, it is half the thickness, roughly 1.5mm vs 3.5mm, when measuring it doubled up. The nylon cord is thin and stretchy, so you cannot rely on looping it over something and holding in place.. The whole thing seems to be a coiled lanyard with every corner cut. I definitely will not use it to tether my camera setup. Maybe I will relegate it to hold my underwater torch, but even then, the thought of trusting a $100 torch to this lanyard is not assuring. I probably will just attach my underwater scissor to it, where it will always be secured in its holster when not in use.
