For the price they should be very durable. They are not. They cut and scratch very easily. Not any better than a $5 walmart plate

No moving parts. I use it in my lunchbox regularly. Nothing exciting, which is a good thing for a plate.

This is an all around campground dinning plate that will stand up to abuse. It is made with glass-reinforced polypropylene which screams hi-tech gear. The ribs on the plate help keep the temperature of the food burn your fingers, it also helps secure it in your hand so you don't dump your chow on the ground. Another product from Sea to Summit that hits it out of the park.

Lightweight, very sturdy, and a perfect shape. I love the low sides—makes eating foods like rice & pasta easy. I wish all plates were shaped like this! The groovy texture is satisfying to touch. I got this for camping, but have been using it at home. The reddish orange color is more muted in person than it looks in the pics—I really like it.

If money is no object, this is a great lightweight plate. However, if you need four of them for a backpacking family, it will be a lot of money. So: quality five stars. Price: depends on your pocketbook. There are other plates to be had for less, but this one has a nice lip to keep food safely on the plate, and can be a serving plate, a 'bowl' to mix a small amount of food, etc. If you have to carry it in your backpack, it definitely serves the "light and strong" purpose. If it's for your car camping kit, weigh the price against the plate.

Lighter than the stainless steel option but just as sturdy.

The lightweight material used for this plate is a winner! I have plates that are lighter and others metal ones that are probably more durable, but this is a great in-between since it is thick lightweight plastic. It's easy to hold and doesn't bend, so it's easy to carry, and the high sides are easy to grip. It's a bit extravagant for a backpacking item, but I got it for travel, where it could easily be packed away and be used instead of paper plates during your trip.
