I took this net on a 2 week backpacking/ wild camping trip in Scotland, it worked very very well, my brother suffered way worse than I when it came to the midges. Buy this net and also a midge candle.

They work well even for our tiny coastal no-see-ums. I don't like how much they obscure my vision but some visual loss is better than being bitten to death! They are very light-weight and reasonably well constructed. The one I purchased a few years ago is still in good shape after moderate use. I hope these two new ones will hold up as well.

We arrived in Minnesota and Canada for their annual mosquito fly in rendezvous. On our first blood letting hike I forgot to pack this head net and finished the hike like a teenager in a vampire movie. The second hike this was firmly on top of my Tilly hat and tucked into my shirt. I swore I could hear the mosquitoes chanting "come out and play yay" like the David Patrick Kelly in The Warriors. (Ask your grandparents or You Tube) But they didn't get a drop from me.Bonus points for the neat stuff sack and adjustable fit.

If you are camping in the wilderness or fly fishing at dusk you have to have something like this to keep the mosquitoes off of you. It comes in a little pouch and you can put it on in seconds. Excellent must have purchase for backpackers, campers and fly fishermen.

I like this bug net bcuz it fits over my sun hat. its net is so fine that it won't let in gnats. Great for hiking and a life saver for deep hiking when bugs come out at sundown. Id recommend this for a bug out Bag as well. Hiking with your bob from point A to B will most likely take you through the country and hiking Miles in the country rural parts of your home land. The use of a Bob is to get to point a to b. Not survive forever. This is very useful for hiking and for a bug out Bag.

There are a ton of these "nets" all over the internet that claim "ultra-fine" and blah blah..That term can be vague in definition. And if you read a lot of the reviews of those other nets, you will see folks complaining about how bugs are still getting through the net. They bought a 4-8 dollar net. You get what you pay for folks. This net here, I have extensively tested, and it holds back tiny house gnats and up. Now, I'm not sure about anything smaller than that, but even the baby gnats could not get in it, so it could very well work for almost everything. You can tell a GOOD solid net hole size when you put it on and after a time, you start to take notice the oxygen quality, I guess due to a combination of trapped Co2 and non-movement. These holes are extremely tiny, but be sure to allow the bottom of the net to hang loosely downward so that as you move, you release co2. But Stop a sec! Hold on, don't take this as a warning of danger, there is no danger here. You just may sense a different feeling if your sensitive to such things, being a diver as I am. Others will probably not even notice this. And besides, I doubt most people will go on a jog with this thing on their head. Or maybe you will, who knows. You will be FINE! Although I wouldn't suggest you attempt to sleep with it on, that might not be a smart thing to do, but whatever, you do you. And to point the finger at myself, I did actually fall asleep accidently with this net on, and was fine. Fishing does have it's up's and downs. -shrug.Anyhow, if you want to stop 'nearly' every flying thing from getting in your face, BUY THIS.

I spent five weeks near Canon City, Colorado and the gnats were horrendous. Luckily, I had already prepared by purchasing this bug net. I spent a lot of time trying to find a net that had tiny holes, because I know that, generally, bug nets are only effective against mosquitoes. The gnats that I experienced LOVED eyeballs, and I was scrambling up steep slopes every single day. Getting gnats in my eyes put me in danger. When I put on this net, it kept the gnats out completely, and I wasn't having to stop in order to pick gnats out of my eyes. Other geologists that were with me ordered this same net after they quickly noticed that their bug nets were inadequate.

I purchased this when I walk through the woods, which I do a lot. This mesh gives me reassurance that any buzzing insect I hear will not alight on my face, collar area, or back of the neck. I currently use it with a baseball cap. The holes are small enough to prevent even the smallest insects from passing through. I gave it 4 stars because it is a bit hard to see through and sometimes I might look up and a gap forms at the front, bottom that could let a lucky insect inside.
