The picture makes it appear to be at least somewhat translucent. It really isn't. It doesn't look like glass - It looks like plastic. The picture shows the chain coming from a loop on either side. Those loops don't exist. There is a single hole for the chain to go through, which means it rotates and won't hang straight.

I'm using this as a gift later this year for a friend's birthday. This plastic hanging stained glass sea turtle has a cool, colorful design but it's really lightweight and thin. The thinness will make the light shine through better I suppose, but if you're hanging it outside it will blow all over in the wind. This one will probably hang inside so it should be ok. It's a nice size too, a little bigger than I expected so make sure you measure where you're going to put it to make sure it will fit. Overall it's a nice item and I would recommend it even though it is thin.

I didn’t pay attention to how large this is but it’s beautiful. Very vibrant colors. Would make a lovely gift for someone.
