Seachoice says these lights are 3" in this ad, on their own website, and in their catalog.They are not 3" - They measure 2 13/16" across with the bezel installed, just like all other similar readily available lights made by other companies. The difference is that other companies publish the exact size and don't just "round up" to 3 inches.If you want something that will cover/span 3 inches, this is not it.

Nice light, plenty bright enough for a deck light. The plastic flange where the mounting screws go through is very thin. Pre drill and hand tighten only!! My own stupid mistake. This light also requires a hole to be recessed. It is not a surface mount!!

Bought these and my boat has blue and white color lights so ended up getting a scandvik dual color from a rev place instead. These lights work fine for single color white light over the console

I replaced the standard stern light and the LED is so much better and well made. No problem passing USCG auxiliary inspection.

This light appears to be very well made. Don't expect it to be super bright as it is made to be a courtesy light. It does project a nice, fine blue color that really makes the interior of my boat look sharp at night while having no adverse affect on night vision. Edited 3/5/14. After having these lights for a year now I can still say I like them and the work well/look nice. I would like to add a note to the installation of these lights though. When tightening them down, make sure you back them with silicone sealant and leave the screws a little loose (barely hand-tight)after the silicone sets up. Reason being is that my lights are developing cracks across them. This wasn't noticible when I first installed them but it is quite noticeable now. I don't think there is anything wrong with the light, but they are quite thin around the mounting holes and easily broken, so I likely made them just a little too tight during installation.
